  1. Many thanks for your replies, I will try the Modelmaster JE plates. Ray.
  2. What is the consenus on who's etch plates to use, 247 does not do the BR / GWR names I require, Fox are very good but expensive, CGW seem to have disappeared, Which leaves Modelmaster Jackson Evans, I have never seen these and wonder what the quality is like. Can anybody advise. Many thanks,Ray.
  3. Has anybody heard the sound version of the 122 available from Hattons. Is it worth the £260 price tag?
  4. Hi Steve, Hope you enjoyed your break away. As mentioned I have added a couple of pictures.I would be interested in what LED fibre optics you use and where they can be obtained from, as my signals were build about 5 years ago and the smallest bulbs I could get were grain of rice. Small LED's did not seem to be about, two have since blown and are a pain to replace. I am totting up the calling on arms and will be in touch. Ray.
  5. Hi Steve, I have just come across your blog while looking for something completely different, and was stopped in my tracks with your equisite signals. I have built several working signals with calling on arms which took me weeks to scratch build the arms and lamp housings. I was going to commission an etcher to produce some arms for me for future projects but woundered if your good friend Les would be prepared to sell me some and the resin lamp housings. I will attempt to send some pictures as I think we are like minded in our approach to perfection. Ray.
  6. Has anybody had problems down loading the user instructions from the help menu of the Silhouette Cameo. Ray.
  7. Excellent photos. A real gem for anybody modelling that area. We were all guilty of filling our photos with locos and ignoring the infrastructure as we thought it would be around for ever. While in the area of the Cambrian Coast I am putting out an appeal for anybody having photos of Shrewsbury - early 1960's showing the station platform buildings without being blotted out by rolling stock. I am also trying to establish when the central signal box at the end of bays 5 and 6 was demolished. It was taken out of commission in February 1961, but had it been removed by the Summer of 1962? (which is when my model of the station is based on). A second request for any photos of the goods platform, originally used as a cattle dock, adjacent to Howard Street. There is a large pipe scales about 6" diameter running along the girder over the entrance to the Shropshire Union Yard, and then, I assume, running into some sort of machine housing on the goods platform, but this is only my guess. Hence, I would be very grateful for any photo evidence. Many thanks, Ray.
