Conversely the details of the last 'Inner Suburban' train are easy to find. It was in fact a railtour, the last timetabled service train having been cancelled due to staff shortages. Last Moorgate Inner Suburban working on 4 Nov 1976 comprised 46210, 46140, 43145, 46108, 46119, 46159, hauled by 31183 from FP to Moorgate, and from Broad Street to WGC and back to KX, and 31249 from Moorgate to Broad Street via R/R at Hertford North.

It does seem stange the number was seemingly not recorded, but it will have been a Class 31 from Finsbury Park depot. The Mk1 suburban stock had finished on the 'inner suburban' services through the Kings Cross tunnels to Moorgate in Nov 1976, and this event seemed to have received much more attention. The few remaining 'outer suburban' trains only ran from March to September 1977, and would have used the main terminal platforms. Of the Accurascale Class 31s, 31248 or 31402 would be the most suitable to work with a 1977 train.

What happened to Barrie Davis model railways on YouTube?
stovepipe replied to Train_Dude's topic in DVD/Video/TV
There has been a history of him taken down his channel, often due to comments being made he didn’t like, and then more recently after comments he himself made about other YouTubers in his videos which were really not very pleasant, and caused something of a backlash. I lose track exactly but I think the last two closedowns were as a result of uncalled for comments he had made. Somehow the tag ‘of the world being a better place if we all enjoyed our model trains as much as I do etc’ began to ring very hollow. -

Got my shipping notification for the Blue and Grey ones at 2pm this afternoon. These were ordered on 28 August 2021. -
Yes I've been looking for 'Bachmann TEA' too. Entering exactly that phrase brings up two Hornby teak coaches, and a Hornby TEA tank wagon first, then the Bachmann TEA tank wagons. Entering 'Bachmann TEA tank' instead, I still get the Hornby one first. In each case the word 'Hornby' is highlighted as if it was in my search terms when it certainly wasn't. Browsing through the clearance section in OO gauge>rail>pristine still gives me weathered stock - the exclusive Peaks mainly. I can't select the new items - which is what I'm interested in. This same search also returns HO items - again why?

Exclusive Class 31 - Updated Images
stovepipe replied to Locomotion No. 3's topic in Locomotion Models
Accurascale, see launch thread. The decoration artwork in that thread is correct, as per BV's photos. -
Ok, looks like the date from SYP to FYE isn't in the loco record for D25 on the Peak Diaries website, https://peakdieselarchive.co.uk/the-peak-diaries But sometime in 1967 works fine for me still. I don't suppose that S&C photo is online anywhere? Edit: I did find this, which says taken on 6 October 1968. There is an S&C photo of D25 in GFYE on 1S68, it was taken in Feb 1969. https://peakdieselarchive.co.uk/gallery-45-012-45-022

No, now edited!

Not all Mk1 compartment stock was created equal either. 3rd class and later 2nd class was 6 seats per compartment on the LMR and ER, and 8 seats per compartment on the LMR SR and WR.

Yes I noticed that too - a better choice would have been from D174 onwards. I do like the economy green Peak, D25, and it looks like it was in this condition between May '66 and Feb '69.

Who would have thought that the humble Brush Type 2 would end up being one of, or even the most tooled UK diesel loco in OO? Triang, Airfix, Lima, Hornby, Accurascale, and now Bachmann. 263 made and 64 years of service has a lot to do with it I'm sure. I think possibly 42/43, 47 and 52 are onto four or five different toolings currently, depending on your defintion of OO.

Thanks for your list. I can add a few more that had D prefixes in the early blue style. In a few cases this is surmised from the positioning of the numbers, with a space left where the D had been painted out. D5535,D5536,D5549,D5553,D5554,D5556,D5589,D5603,D5622,D5640,D5652,D5653,D5656,D5800,D5837,D5838,D5851,D5852. I have 67 in this livery style now. A couple of queries though, D5823 was green until at least 1973, and I think D5663 also, but alas no picture link for that one.

86202 was also fitted with an observation pod during April 1973 for testing of the Beattock section of the new WCML electrification. -
I have noted a few additional 'GFYE Arrows' to your list - D5517,5521,5568,5603,5608,5613,5619,5628,5648,5652,5653,5662,5670,5688,5800,5802,5809. So 79 examples in all. For the GFYE with Crest style I have 121 examples, and for the early BFYE (4 bodyside D numbers) I have 62 examples. Still 14 locos unaccounted for. Not sure why I started on this, but I suspect Russell Saxton's postings might have planted a seed!

I think the carriage side destination boards were more common in the 1967-69 period - if indeed that is what we are seeing. 1A62 was 15.25 Swansea - Padd, Mon to Sat in 1969, and 15.20 in 1968. Air-braked stock was rostered in both years, but the Mk2b fleet arrived in 1969, so it could potentially be that year. Not many Crewe-built 52s in Maroon FYE livery and also dual braked, but quite a few more Blue FYE ones by the end of 1969.

Yes my understanding too was that D174 was the first one built with the one-piece centre headcode.... and also as 46037 the last in service with a domino headcode panel, some four years after the others had been plated over (or withdrawn). On the SYP question D138-148 were delivered before the SYP edict was made. The Peak Diaries livery guide says D138-144 definitely were delivered in all-over green, and also probably 145 and possibly 146-148 too. https://peakdieselarchive.co.uk/first-to-last-liveries It seems the yellow panels were quickly painted on in 1962, leaving only a short window for photographers.
