  1. Ian, I am trying to self manage my expectations as we are only 3 weeks into a shipping process that may take more than 5 to complete at source and longer for receipt at destination. There is so much to get excited about looking at all the pictures, comments and videos here (I try to avoid the videos, as I want to watch and listen to my own soon ). I am not "miffed", just disappointed mine isn't here yet. Like most Brits, I wait patiently in line but it is so hard when somebody who joined the queue behind you walks away a satisfied customer before you. I am still waiting in line but I do hope it is not like the one for the cheese shop - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWDdd5KKhts Matthew
  2. Wow - that one is a bit hard to take. I know I expected that international orders might be shipped later but I paid 14 months ago and was hoping to get mine before people who only paid this week
  3. I am the one who started the rumour about shipping international orders last, as Locomotion have not confirmed that in any of their updates. It is what I would do if only 10% of my sales were international and likely to be held in customs for several days anyway. Get the other 90% happy as they'll receive them within 2 days of dispatch.
  4. Can I ask that we keep this a secret for at least a few more weeks? I expect that international orders will be shipped last by Locomotion, in about a week or so, and then will sit in customs for several days while they decide if such a heavy box could be a "toy train". Then there is several more days for the delivery to reach the Northern extremities of Ontario (i.e. anywhere North of Toronto). I am almost losing my mind waiting for my sound fitted version so please don't spoil the only surprise I will have left by the end of April. P.S. Hint to Sandra; If I don't get an e-mail about delivery I really do hope it isn't shipped all the way back to Shildon if I am not at home. Matthew
  5. Thank you Rumblestripe for this topic. I started reading it a couple of days ago and it made me get off my backside and unbox the similar model I bought a couple of weeks ago from Amazon.ca. I was using the excuse it was still too cold to paint in the garage but really it was because I wasn't sure how to set it up and get the pressure regulated. This topic, and the post from Jaggzuk about the holder, helped me set it all up and point some paint towards a test piece last night. Everything is looking good so I now need to complete some work worthy of painting. Thanks Matthew
  6. I am one of those new members and I did take the time to read a lot of the previous 50 odd pages before adding to the poll. I still think the discussion is worth having too, but the previous pages probably need précising again to make it manageable for most people to catch up. It took me three or four days to find out where things were heading and by the time I finished I got confused. In summary I think most people agree there needs to be a set of standards we can agree to for a compromise to get ready to lay FB OO track with a more realistic look, but then it gets difficult to specify what they are. Can we start with an agreed sleeper size and spacing perhaps and move on from there? Matthew
