  1. If they do allow the likes of argos to sell starter sets then id imagine that it would be a small tank engine and a few wagons to keep costs down
  2. One thing i didnt see mentioned is about the track. Im assuming its going to be code 55 like the peco pointwork?
  3. Ive preorded the A4 set. Joined the club and got almost £30 off making it £165 ish which to me seems decent value. I'll be using the peco unifrog points tho
  4. I mustve missed this but Hattons are advertising an 08 and J94 in TT Gauge. Hope its true :) Heljan HeljanTT-Class08 All-new Class 08 in TT (1:120) scale - See item (hattons.co.uk)
  5. I said pretty much the same thing a few pages back. With the HUO and the steel tipplers i managed to find an ebay seller selling them as singles There is the exclusive one on the accurascale website
  6. Couldnt you have just returned it to retailler to begin with? I guess youll have top get back in touch with Bachmann to reject the replacement
  7. Great announcement but would it be at all possible to do a 3 pack with 3 different wagons in it? I know people run block trains but others like me dont like having more than a few of the same wagon.
  8. Quite tempted by the tops numbered green one
  9. Comes off fairly easy, i found getting it back on more of a challenge. Hattons did a dcc fitting video for it that shows how its done
  10. yes its going to be 00, shouldve said that to start with. N is a bit to small, i did try it before but my eyesight isnt what it was.
  11. So after doing some remedial work on my baseboard my mind turn s to track plans. My baseboard is 9Ft x 38". Previously i had a single 2nd radius loop with sidings for shunting / storage. Whilst i got to run stuff and watch it go round and round i get bored quite quickly. Thinking about doing an end to end splitting the board into 6ft scenic 3ft fiddle yard. Passenger trains would be 2 coach trains and a CLASS 105 dmu. Goods traffic handled by small diesels such as class 20 and 24s shunted by an 08. Id like to run 37s and 47s but feel at 9ft the layouts not big enough. This is what i had in mind
  12. Imminent according to TMC. Was hoping theyd all be on the same shipment
  13. My one from Rails arrived today and it runs a lot better so its a keeper, although still a but grindy at low speed. Just a seat loose inside but ill fix that back when i get the body off which i hope will be fairly easy.
  14. Just to update hattons have refunded plus the postage cost sp happy its resolved. Ive took the plunge and ordered one from Rails this time and sent an email to ask if they can test run it before they send it. So hopefully i get a good one this time :)
  15. 3 months to return a loco does seem excessive, no?
  16. Thanks fran will do EDIT : On its way back. Return approved after less than 5 mins after i emailled. Thanks fran :)
  17. Recieved my one today. Has anyone used them on set track points? I have 6 sets on my layout and the wagon causes a short on every one when the wheels cross the frog.
  18. I probably will try another but ill wait until i can try one in a shop. Were due to go Yorkshire in october so plenty of shops to choose from, both in yorkshire and if i take a detour via sheffield :)
  19. Mustve done, i sent a 14XX back a few years ago and im pretty certain that was a prepaid collect plus label. They did say that they would cover basic 2nd class post - basically the cheapest option. I asked for a prepaid label mainly because if it goes missing its thier problem as they are the ones with the contract with RM. If i post its me with the problem as the sender. They did say dont worry just get a proof of postage - but thats very basic and it lacks the type of item handed over - ie parcel, letter, large letter etc and crucially it dosent have the wieght on it.
  20. Love the sound of that. Is that the factory fitted sound?
  21. The wall and low relief industrial units look really good. Were they a kit?
  22. I recieved a dcc fitted class 121 from hattons yesterday. Sadly its had to go back as its lurched forward - stopped - lurched forwards - stops over and over.. It was also making a very grindy noise. Ive opted for a refund. I wouldve liked to try another but since hattons dont supply prepaid returns labels ive had to pay out £15+ to return it. They did say they would cover the cost of the cheapest 2nd class option to send it back. But i didnt feel happy sending back a heavy large parcel worth almost £300 by standard post with only £20 cover.
