  1. Interesting and helpful email from Hattons today about the Accura 37: “Class 37s are fitted with a stay alive. We are advising you just need to make sure the stay alive is charged before trying the sound. It is recommended that it is run around the track at a slow speed for around five minutes before attempting the sound.”
  2. I’m waiting on three to find their way to Ireland. They’ll get here. Today I’ve been trying to buy another on the .com site - showing as 50 in stock for most of the day which seems a bit odd - but it doesn’t allow for delivery to Ireland. So I can’t buy there. On the IRM / EU site all 92s are showing as out of stock so I can’t buy there either! I’m wondering if it’s something I’m doing incorrectly or if it’s on the Accurascale side?
  3. Can anybody tell me when the Hornby Mk2E coaches were reviewed in the model press, particularly in Virgin livery? Or is there a search facility somewhere that I don’t know about?
  4. KDG, I agree with you, and I have indeed fed the information back to Hattons. Not least because I really shouldn’t have to spend considerable time repairing items that cost me €159.00! But on this occasion I’m also happy to repair the wagons myself.
  5. Hadn’t spotted this - another piece missing but no sign of it anywhere. It has come out of the holes completely and disappeared. But it’s easily fixed therefore; some fine wire, a little paint, and glue! Lots of work though for a brand new model!
  6. Classy52, probably, but I’m not too fussed. In my experience Hattons are excellent in this regard but I’m happy to work with it as it is.
  7. Done! The second piece is not a true tight/push fit so it’s relying on glue. Not sure how long it’ll last. I notice too that these pieces sometimes tip the adjacent pipe work when the bogie swings, the tolerances are very tight!
  8. I’ve removed the bogie - thanks again Roddy Angus. The only way to do it. I’ve managed to re-attach one piece but the other is not as good a fit and has resisted all my attempts so far!
  9. Yes Matt, off the bogies. Still haven’t managed to re-attach them. I’m getting too old for this!
  10. Received my RHTT today; they are very finely detailed models, and well packaged. But such a high level of detail means that there are plenty of separately fitted fragile parts - and I have spent the best part of an hour today trying to re-attach just one of the parts in the photo. I’m afraid my eyesight is not what it used to be and even with tweezers and magnification I failed. This is becoming a recurring problem for me as the standard of fine detail improves. And it’s not just Hattons and the RHTT, I’ve had a similar difficulty recently with a different manufacturers finely detailed product.
  11. Thanks for that... just sent you an email.
