  1. Latest Running Session for April. Will update with photos over the weekend of progress ive made on the layout.
  2. Recently purchased the Hattons RHTT. Been wanting something like this for a while and certainly doesnt disappoint. They've done a superb job on these.
  3. Not a lot of progress this month, apart from starting the scenic area to the right of the station. Decided to just make the raised scenic part out of cardboard as it was easier than cutting mdf into the shape i wanted. The bridge over the ballast sidings on the left was purchased off of ebay and the one of the right was made from Merkur polystyrene brickwork and a peco bridge girder. The filler is where the main road will cut across the foreground of the scene and then a small dirt track will branch off up towards the house etc...
  4. February Running Session. Some update pics will follow in the coming days.
  5. Nice work on the 60. Looks really good in that livery. Look forward to seeing the 50 next!
  6. Been doing some work the ballast sidings ive added behind the station area. Just been adding some foliage to separate the main running lines with the sidings. Ive also used two types of ballast for the mainline and the sidings. This was purely down to me having some old gaugemaster ballast that needed using up before I started using the woodland scenics blend. The platforms themselves are slowly getting there. Ive been messing around with some different shades of grey and blacks to give the effect of patchy tarmac. Its just a trial run and needs touching up in various places but im happy enough with it for now. Also got hold of some of Revolution Trains TEA tank wagons. Just got them in the grey livery to represent the aviation fuel runs that have been running between Grain and Colnbrook. Very nice wagons, with good detail and run really well. Next thing on the list is to work on the scenic break at the back of the ballast sidings and then start to design the town scene and the other end of the station. Cheers Jamie
  7. Wow its been far too long since the last post. This year I will try to be more active on here... Heres the december update for the layout. Includes a small running session at the end as well.
  8. Great work with the layout! Looked stunning. Spent a good 20 minutes there taking photos and getting ideas. You done well to survive the heat in that room all day though! Thanks Jamie
  9. I dont think any DRS ones have worked down the branch, but ive photographed a GBRf one on a railtour and a DB one on a freight working to lydd a few years back. Looking forward to seeing you progress with this! Jamie
  10. New addition to the fleet are the Hattons Beilhack snowploughs. I'm sure theres some small details others will pick out, but Impressed with these. Well weighted and the detail is really good on them. If this is the standard hattons are going to model to on their products then the RHTT and the new class 66's should be good!
  11. Hi all, Detailing has been added to engine shed and is finally starting to look how i want it to. Bit of weathering on the concrete and that should be the TMD area all finished. Also started work the other side of the road bridge add some walling and greenery to the area where the incline meets the main running lines. Had an old Bachmann scenecraft sub station so add that to the lineside area and will add and mobile phone mast or some pylons to the bare baseboard.
  12. Layouts looking fantastic, cant wait to see this at the DEMU Showcase!
  13. Hi all, Slow progress as always but we're getting there eventually! -The yard is now full operational as I've installed all the dropper wires to the necessary sidings. Probably something I should have done first but doing the electrics is probably the most tedious part for me! -Smaller details have been added to the yard as well. Security fencing is about halfway along now. This was from scale model scenery but instead of using their material for the fence itself I had this metal mesh which i cut to size as used as the chain link. Ive also added small crash barriers, a couple of vans and painted the concrete area with two coats of woodland scenic concrete top coat. Now I need to decide about detailing within the depot! - Further up the layout Ive built another road bridge and then started adding the scenery to the area where the top level goes down to the bottom level. This area will be more of a countryside area but Im still work on what I'm actually going to put here. Also added a few new additions to the fleet. A Dapol class 73 in GBRf livery; a Bachmann colas rail 47727 & Bachmann GBRf 66789 in BR livery. Thanks for taking the time to read as always
