  1. TPE 68 looks great on the freight!
  2. Good afternoon. Since my last update I have had little chance to do much on the layout. I have done a bit more ballasting - takes days to dry. Static grassed the incline to the tigers - needs excess hoovering off when dried. Had a go at painting the sea. Looks better in my opinion although that blue was always temporary. Even this paint is not permanent, I intend to do some kind of wave texture then paint over it. I've done more on the tiger enclosure. I apologise for this as the tiger idea is pure self indulgent. The pond needs some realistic water pouring in then the weather is warmer. Made 2d rocks for the rear, bushes and rocks and a tree trunk added spanning the stream that feeds the pond. Roarsome creatures. This photo was taken by one of the people who visited the zoo. I am making a fence/wall for the enclosure. It is a wall, mesh fence with a glass viewing point.
  3. Yes for sure! All in progress at the minute. Don't want anyone being mauled to death by a Siberian Tiger!
  4. Good evening everyone. Some more Preiser figures have arrived so I've made a little scene at the church. I have put the figures on plastic stands as my 7 year old daughter often comes in the garage and plays games with the figures! The church still needs some nice fencing and more gravestones. I've done a bit more on the footpath which now seems to be rising from the prom to a hilltop zoo. When I saw some Preiser Tigers I couldn't resist but get some and try to incorporate them into the layout somehow. If I had seen them alot earlier and that you can also get other animals i would have set room aside for a more expansive safari park or zoo. As it is i can only fit in a low relief Tiger enclosure. The tiger bottom left is as they come from Preiser, a stereotypical orange cat with black stripes but the one on the platform and on the right I have added paint and hopefully made them a bit more detailed. The white will be water, at the moment it is polyfiller and is drying. Lots more to be done but very little room to do it.
  5. Looks great. Nice video too of your locos with sound. Following this, keel up the great work!
  6. Here is a video of my Bachmann Colas Rail 70805 on a rail tour around some of the scenic areas in progress so far. Thanks for watching.
  7. Good evening. The modrock has dried so I've given it a base coat of paint. The white you can still see is polyfiller. As this part is quite steep I am trying a new technique by making rocks with horizontal layers of polyfiller squeezed out of a tube. When it dries tomorrow I will paint it. I've installed a wall between the railway and the sea wall footpath. Where it ends it will turn to black spear fencing which I cant seem to get hold of at the minute. Some busch boat kits have arrived so I've glued them together. The seaside is starting to look a bit less bland and is coming to life.
  8. Ha! Thanks Mick, now there's a little cameo scene that I've not seen done before! Thanks for the comment and having a look at Durrington Central. Much appreciated!
  9. Good evening. A little more progress after work. Modrocked the bank up to the footpath. Some Noch figures arrived for the seaside. Here are a family having a great time! I will definitely order a few more sets of figures for various scenes around the layout.
  10. A fine structure Jim. Looks great with the loco coming through.
  11. Good evening. A little bit more has been done on the seaside prom after I got home from work. Road needs markings, footpaths nearly done as the curb stones need adding in the 1st photo. In the 2nd photo you can see a path going up the incline. I need another building or two to make into more sea front type businesses that will finish off the row nicely. Still loads of ballasting to do and I will place some vegetation between the ballast and retaining wall where footpath is raising up. Might get a little bit more done tomorrow after work.
  12. This looks amazing so far! That station could be very special indeed. I am following your thread and progress.
  13. With the backboard removed for access I have been working on the corner of the seaside area. I do not have enough room to do a road dropping down to the prom so I am just doing a footpath. In the days to come hopefully you will see what i am trying to achieve. Below is a photo of work done so far.
  14. Good evening. Finally 4 bags of Javis dark green lichen has arrived so I have chopped it finely and glued it to the rock face along with a few other vegetation products. Still needs more in areas. Some Metcalfe tarmac sheets have arrived so I can carry on with the little promenade by the sea. I have an idea in my head about a road dropping down to the promenade as if it is a little bay with the retaining wall for the road running behind the railway line. I will have to see if I can pull it off. Hope it will add so some variation in height and terrain.
  15. Good video. Looks great. Subscribed to you channel. Nice 66s and really nice collection of wagons. Scenery and details coming on really well.
  16. 97302 waits time at Euxton Balshaw Lane station before departing with the 3Q52 Longsight to Crewe Network Rail test train.
  17. Nice one Russ, is this the new route for any moves between Leeds and Crewe for Freightliner?
  18. I've been doing a bit of work on the sea wall over the last few days. Today I have covered the polyfiller with glue then sprinkled some fish tank gravel, fish tank sand and children's play sand over it. Hopefully it dries ok. The building in the bottom right corner of the photo is the Metcalfe school which I am going to use as a boat/sailing club/cafe. There is a ramp for vehicles and trailers to take boats, canoes etc down to the beach. This building will effectively end the seaside scene. Below is another view. The Direct Rail Services 37 is in the aggregate Sidings. I've run out of Superquick grey sandstone sheets but have some on order to carry on. I have 2 sidings that serve the aggregate Terminal, one is served by the loading tower.
  19. Amazing modelling and photography to show it off. Nice one.
  20. Good evening. I did a bit more on the fencing by the farm but also installed a Hornby TTS sound decoder to my Bachmann DRS 37405 and below is a video.
  21. Good evening I went to my local(ish) model shop today but didn't manage to get everything I hoped to get. Only managed 1 hour on the layout tonight but I am quite happy with this Peco flexible post and rail fencing. Now i can add more bushes along the fence on the railway side as that side would be more overgrown. Its mad how just adding the slightest addition to an area transforms it. Hopefully I can get more fencing done tomorrow as well as other things. It is so cold at the moment I can only do a short time in the garage before my fingers turn blue!!
  22. I have installed the palisade fencing along the railway and have 2 cut outs in the footpath, one will be a bus stop and one a taxi rank. I have ordered some adhesive road markings online and hopefully they will do a decent job. In between all the eating and drinking of Christmas I have extended the sea wall which you can't really see in the photo below. I have this Metcalfe school that I am going to use as a boat/sailing club. There is a ramp behind the building which gives access to the beach for vehicles, trailers and boats. I will take a better photo of this when it's been polyfillered and covered with sand.
  23. On a wintery start to the week Freightliner 70019 is photographed at Chapel Lane, Acton Bridge hauling the 6J34 Runcorn Folly Lane to Brindle Heath binliner.
