  1. Somewhat off topic, but I have to say this is, without doubt, the most helpful forum ever.. Thanks so much all S
  2. Is it possible to fit Kadee's to a 1971 Hornby R52 Jinty? I do have some 1st radius curves to contend with.. Any recommendations? Many thanks to all those who responded to my earlier question
  3. Could anyone advise which Kadee coupler is best suited to the Hornby Class 08 R2417, which has NEM pockets? TIA Shaun
  4. Please could someone explain how to detach the bodies of these Railroad locomotives from their respective chassis? I like to fit keepalive caps inside. Many thanks Shaun

  6. What a superb collection. Well done, really impressed. You have inspired me to have a go at building a Caledonian myself from parts on eBay. Am I right in thinking the power is only supplied via the main driving wheels? Surprised, and pleased they work like that..... Cheers Shaun
  7. Thanks for correcting me 8-) What does the ucon-manager do? I understand one of these is required for the ucon-railspeed component. Cheers Shaun
  8. Hi, I wondered if anybody has tried the LS-digital ucon system? I'm quite interested in the ucon-railspeed product but I cannot find any English documentation. Does the ucon-manager have similar functionality to Marklin's z21 product? TIA Shaun
  9. Having recently returned to the hobby after 45 years I have to say I am astounded by the above posts. The repaint quality is superior to the original Binn's product. Hat's off to all.... S
  10. Hi, Does anybody know if the current R3406 body would fit on the chassis of an R52S which has synchrosmoke? TIA Shaun
  11. I now am in state of ecstasy 8-) Thanks so much! What sort of price do they command on EBay? Once again thanks so much I've been trying to find out about these for months.... Kind regards Shaun
  12. Hi all, I seem to recall in my youth Tri-ang briefly marketed a pair of block controllers sometime in the sixties. I think the units were about six inches high, each of which consisted of a mechanical indicator with a lever at the bottom. I've searched through all the catalogues I can find from that era but I can find no trace. Does anyone recall this device? Or is my imagination? TIA Shaun
