[DC wiring - Help please!]

Thank you so much everyone for your replies. I really appreciate the time and effort you have taken to help me out. it turned out that that rails were touching where they should be isolated so I've put milliput in to ensure the gaps stay apart. I had checked the rails previously and they were ok but must have come together when moved. This has really helped me to progress at a time when I was pulling my hair out. Now I'm encouraged to get on with the rest of it. Thanks again 

[DC wiring - Help please!]

Hi I'm hoping someone can help with a wiring problem. I have wired up about 10 ft of layout using double throw switches so that most of the track can be powered by one of two controllers. When I tested it the loco ran very slowly. When I put another loco on a different section with the switch centre off they both ran! I don't understand how, as all the centre contacts lead to the track?

Could it be because the returns are all joined together and then split to connect to both controllers? Is it a short somewhere?  Or would that mean no movement at all? Or have somehow linked the feeds from both controllers? Any help or advice very much appreciated.  Thanks,  Neil

Hi has anyone any experience of modelling the ici tip air calcium carbonate wagons? Any ideas or info on long forgotten kits or parts that may help? Ive found a simple drawing and photos on Pauls site, but any other advice would me muchh appreciated.

[BR Class 28 layout ideas]

I've managed to dig up the RM issues concerned.  There are two plans; one of Barrow and Grange-over-Sands and a second of Whitehaven Bransty and Corkickle.  Both are in the idiom of the early 1980s; that is, with quite a lot packed into the space and an emphasis on operation over exact scale reproduction.  No bad thing in my opinion, child of the Freezer generation that I am .

 

If you'd like, and if I can prise MissB off the scanner for five minutes, I'll shoot them over to you by PM.

Pat, ive just started building a layout based on the Whitehaven area but have never seen the article snd plan you refer to here. Is there any chance you could let me know which issue it was in?

[Plastic track infill]

Hi

 

A few years ago I bought some plastic track infill strips. I think they were from a US manufacturer. They were for making dockyards etc. Would anyone know who made them or where I can get them?
