  1. Thanks all, have found some enamelled copper wire that is 0.2mm in diameter, so hopefully that will do the job
  2. Hello all and I hope everyone is well. I've decided to start wiring tiny surface mount leds or (smds) and leds into vehicles to give lights like headlights and emergency vehicles with blue flashing lights, as the lights are so small naturally it needs thinner wires to route to them in the vehicle this also makes for a better look as you can hide them inside the vehicle as they are oo gauge Oxford die-cast vehicles. The problem is I can't find any ultra thin cable anywhere, went on flea bay and bought some 28awg cable which I thought would have been thin but its the same size with the insulation plastic on as probably 7/0.2. Does anyone know where you can get really thin cable or if anyone else has done this type of work, any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks Huw
  3. Hey Everyone Does anyone have a good solution for removing cork underlay which has been stuck down with PVA to a plywood baseboard? I can find loads of topics on how to get the thing stuck down but not really much to getting it back up again!! Cheers Huw
  4. Hello all and apologies if this has been covered in a previous topic but after having searched I couldn't find it, my question is this, based in an oo gauge layout what do people use for the orange cabling which comes out of the trunking and goes underneatg the railway tracks, is it simply orange wire? If so what size wire? Or is there another alternative, thanks in advance Huw
  5. Thanks all, it's good to know that if you're stuck with something there is a friendly community out there willing to help, hopefully in years to come I may be helping out newbies too as at the moment I'm a relative newcomer
  6. Hi all, sorry if this has already been covered or if I'm being completely stupid, but I can't seem to find the answer. Connector /terminal strips? I notice in places like screwfix and toolstation you can buy plastic connector strips if joining cables together, link below https://www.screwfix.com/p/3a-terminal-strips-pack-of-10/25545?tc=AB8&ds_rl=1248181&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1249481&gclid=Cj0KCQiA38jRBRCQARIsACEqIev4AeFM3-Nr4OJHOmRi6H08ui3zQw5Ht6YtJNzI8pQdXSB8orRqaZUaAm7-EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CIrOydHNidgCFeYS0wod9Z4AXQ What is the difference between the amps as they go all the way up to 30amps??? Im running a basic bus wire around the layout, what amp rated connectors should I use? Thanks Huw
  7. Hi All I have recently come back into the hobby. I have recently purchased a couple of the Peco 3 arch viaducts to make a larger version around 1.5m length in total. The base to the viaduct is the plastic base that comes with the kit, the rest of my layout and the track will have cork under the track so that it can give me the desired ballast shoulder. The question is this (get to the point I here you say) , what do I do with the viaduct? To get the track to the same height I will no doubt have to put cork under the track on the base that comes with the Peco kit. Or is there another method? Should there still be a ballast shoulder on the viaduct? Does anyone have any idea of glues that could be used, I was considering no more nails (a solvent free) due to the fact the length of the viaduct is quite long, are there any other suggestions? I don't think PVA would adhere to the plastic. Also due to the fact I won't be able to pin the track down to the viaduct as its plastic, what glue is best for securing the track down to the cork? or indeed to the plastic? Any suggestions, ideas or remedies would be great Thanks Huw
