  1. Been after one for ages. A lighter brown version of the standard Brown and can't seem to find anymore. Must be complete, box unimportant. Will pay p&p. Thanks for looking.
  2. Oh and I bet that at some point, someone will paint their power car chocolate and cream. Also green, maroon, desert sand and golden ochre, not forgetting blue pullman ! And, with the cab being mainly fibreglass, some cabs will end up in pub gardens and such..... !
  3. An update of sleeper fleet liveried as its been a while. As of today. Half of it done ! Blue slep 563, 584, 589, 616 with 534 on its way to Wolverton to be done. Rfmb 232 not being done, to go off lease, replaced by 217 Tsod 100, 161 both overdue wheel sets urgently awaiting first internally refurbished new vehicle still due February. Green slep 532, 590, 594, 601, 612, 616 and new vehicle when it gets here. Bfo 173, 174, 175 Rfmb 219, 225 Note, once internal refurbishment done, Tourist second open disabled will no longer be tourist configuration so code change likely also Rfmb. 57 602,3,5 new GWR, 604 will get repaint this year and despite suggestions of desert sand, golden ochre and maroon, should stay traditional GWR green Despite incorrect information and speculation on other large forums, told personally by him in charge of fleet things, W43002 is returning in yellow/blue/grey as per my posts elsewhere.
  4. Downtown ; t'aint fair, taint right, taint fit, taint proper. Oops, wrong county/duchy
  5. It's Mk3 seats NOT Bristol VR.... !! Enquiries through fleet engineer and Porterbrook.
  6. A reintroduced Triang Rocket.... ,or a Lord of the Isle.... ?
  7. 57303 rescues Freight today around St Austell. I'm sure someone has details/photos.... .
  8. Once HSTs enter preservation, I certainly see the larger lines such as the West Somerset, NYMR, Midland, Central etc having 2 power cars and a short set and the smaller lines should cope with a single power car and a coach or three so plenty of scope there. Preserving the interior ( ambience ) is just as important as the outside !
  9. Only passing what I've been told. I DONT get involved in politics, either in my enthusiast or railway working roles, the fact is we SHALL be doing something to celebrate 40 years of the best passenger diesel in the world and that is what my post and information is about.
  10. Told personally, disability hence when mk3 painted in prototype livery when 41 was done, it was locked out when on service train, so we can't do what we wanted to do so doing next best thing..... .
  11. So, body aside, for a reliable, non derailing, less expensive than Heljan class 33, does the Limby 33 do its job ?
  12. Currently, old, traditional style rather than new franchise style. Currently all plough fitted, in black.
  13. Never mind. Something more colourful will be coming our way later this year...... .
  14. From today, I can confirm that 57604 Pendennis Castle will be repainted this year.......in traditional style GWR green as currently carried. 602 should be out this week new style. Still in the planning stage is an open day in May at Bristol St Phillips Marsh depot in conjunction with 40 years this October of HST services along with other events later in the year. Also, something NOT green IS being done to an item of rolling stock but not what initially wanted due to disability regulations....... . Can't say any more but I'm looking forward to seeing it.
  15. As the title says. Just a reminder that if you don't want high backed non tourist friendly seats in your vehicle, now is the time to get in touch with GWR and Porterbrook Leasing. Our Night Riviera stock will soon start on their interior refurbishment so the seats and tables will soon be removed and available. Dating from the Great Western Trains refurbishment around 1996/7, First class style reclining seats in blue with Brown wood effect tables.
  16. Re slightly earlier comment, has the Railroad range "lost its way" what with cheaper and more expensive models now in it ? When originally launched some said it could be the new Triang but we now have some quite technical stuff in there instead of a cheaper, basic but good range. Are some being priced out as a consequence ? Also, with super detailed models restricted to larger radius, some don't have the space. Living in a traditional Cornish granite cottage, space for 4th radius curves is limited so a cheaper model that can use tighter curves will be preferred rather than a display spec. one, again, this is where the Limby type and Railroad models would come in. Then there are those who do model oo outdoors where an expensive model is at risk from snail, cats, feet, balls etc. .
  17. Winter must be coming, First official winter weather warning for staff and 603 now has its centre snowploughs added both ends..... .
  18. Well, have caught up with the replies, thanks all, and so it's not just me ! Guess I'm not alone in wanting to just run trains reliably without bits dropping off and not paying a fortune for the pleasure of it. Looking at Hornby's current range, I do feel priced out nowadays for new stuff and would like to see a return to a range for people who want to run trains, not look at them in a case after spending x amount of silly money. Guess that is what the Railroad range was originally meant to be but why do I still feel it too expensive ?? Should we separate ourselves into model railway runners and model railway displayers ??
  19. Been wondering this for several years now. My last 3 locos purchased new were all Hornby/ex Lima and are now pushing 10 years. I know they are not the most detailed but, importantly to me, they don't derail if your track is an atom out, they pull enough and not once has a motor or axle been oiled. Indeed, no body has ever even been removed. Also, even after droppsies, are still complete. Used indoors and out, my 67, 121 and GWR railcar run smoothly and continuously. All this reminds me of my Triang stock so, is Limby the new Triang ? Am I just lucky or is the Warship, 33, 40 etc. similar ?
