Lovely layout. Great pictures. Look forward to seeing more photographs.
Do you have a track plan and size of the layout available?
What are you using for uncoupling wagons and coaches?

Thank you for all the help.
I am looking to model Era 5 and 6. This is the eras ive seen whilst visiting Germany
-
I have had an interest in the railways of Germany since my visit in 2009. As with any enthusiasm i got carried away and tried to model everything (disaster).
Is there a document or a list with all the different locomotive classes on which shows when they would have been seen on the network i.e. to and from
Thanks in advance

Superb modelling.
What couplings do you use on your stock?
How do you find shunting in 009 scale. I am in the process of planning a layout which will require shunting, any advice would be great

Sounds like you had a good visit. Shame we never got the chance to speak properly at Warley

Do you mean whole rakes of maroon, or odd maroon coaches in rakes of Blue & Grey?
Whole rakes of maroon.
I have seen images of mixed rakes but not too sure how quick BR would have repainted coaching stock into Blue/Grey after 1968

After the end of steam, how long would you have seen maroon mk1 coaches running in express formations?

I have one sound steam and that’s a Hornby cock I got from me Mum and dad years ago! It does sound good, but I’m not a complete fan of Steam sound, I think it’s a bit unrealistic. I do however have a sound class 50, DMU and soon to be sound Deltic....I find the diesels much more convincing, but they’re just my muck around trains, I think I’ve been hanging around Tony too much!
weathering will commence in a few months, once I’m happy with the ballast and everything runs smoothly!
I have a few steam locomotives with sound and totally agree with you steam sound still doesn't sound realistic enough. Diesel on the other hand sound fantastic. Class 37 at full cry

Indeed I am, I’ll be there both days, because what’s the point of flying half way around the world to attend one day at Warley, my wallet won’t like it.....but yes, I’ll be there.
Pop over to B08 and have a chat. It would be good to meet up
Keep up the great modelling

That must really be your personal choice. I would always have a station somehow, but that's me, not you.
I am a little bit lost with your plan now, as I have referred to the original plan, but cannot see those coal staithes?
I built the coal staithes a few months ago. When Phil drew the plan up I forgot to include them. I found a place for thembut the plan hasn't been updated.

Having built one of the platforms (nearest the retaining wall) I don't think a large station suits the layout. My option isto have no station or maybe a very small platform and station. 2 coaches long for local stoppers.
Any thoughts?
