  1. Remember, The Model Engineer Exhibition is a much larger event, attracting huge numbers of visitors from all parts of the country; consequently there are a number of coach companies that advertise special deals to transport visitors to this exhibition. In all the years that the BRM Exhibition has been held at the Ally Pally I have never seen any private coaches parked o/s the main entrance, so the local bus W3 will have no problem stopping at the bus stops adj to the main entrance.
  2. I`m pleased to say that this is a step in the right direction, I trust that this email contact address will now be shown on the BRM home page and included where the Subscribers discounted ticket promo code information is provided. This should address any further problems which may arise from this or future shows. Well done.
  3. As far as I am aware there is still free bus service to and from Alexandra Palace Station provided by Warners which stops outside the main entrance. There is another free service provided by the Park itself from the main car park at the bottom of the hill to the same main entrance. The W3 local bus service (paid or bus pass) runs from the above A.P Station which stops o/s and opp the main entrance depending which direction you are travelling. So there would be very little uphill walking involved. Hope this helps
  4. It’s about time Warners Exhibitions or whoever is responsible got to grips with these Subscriber Discounted Ticket problems. Every since Warners decided to put their ticket sales into the hands of The Ticket Factory for the Peterborough Show 2015, there has been problems with obtaining discounted tickets for that and every Show since and I wouldn’t be surprised that the same problems will still exist for the Peterborough Show later this year. I can`t see that these problems are the fault of The Ticket Factory as they just use the information passed to them by Warners. Somebody from Warners Exhibitions needs to prove that every valid Subscriber number will in fact allow that subs number to obtain a discounted ticket(s), not just give us a prefix code and hope for the best. If not, then having an email address or phone number where these ticket problems could be reported to, would assist this situation no end, rather than just posting comments here and then waiting (weeks??) for a resolution.
  5. As this was posted today, you must mean this year’s Warley Exhibition will take place on Saturday 25 November 2017 and Sunday 26 November 2017 in Hall 5
  6. Hooray! The Subscriber discounted ticket problem has been resolved, well for me anyway, just booked my ticket. Looking forward to another great show – Merry Christmas.
  7. Sorry, not strictly true, I reported the same problem on 06 December, (POST 13), although Andy replied that he was looking into it, I`m still waiting for this to be sorted out. I assumed that it was only my subscriber number that was affected; I was going to wait until after the Christmas break then start chasing it up. Now you’ve reported the same problem, perhaps it will be sorted quicker, as I suspect there will be more than the 2 of us involved.
  8. The Travelodge Walthamstow is adj to Walthamstow Central Tube / Rail Station.
  9. Here we go again Anybody else having a problem booking their discounted Subscriber tickets? After putting into the promo box L17+my subs no, I`m getting the error message that the code is no longer valid Andy is there a problem?
  10. With the financial losses that Hornby are reported to be occurring, together with the steep rises in production costs, is this the start of the slippery slope of cost savings that we can expect in future? I for one hope not.
  11. I believe that the word you are looking for is batch testing. None of the large manufactures are going to reveal how many models in a production run they actually test, nor how many they find faulty. But I worry abit with Bachmann products by the amount of returned items they have for sale at Warley each year. Whereas Hornby probably just discards their unrepaired faulty models, as I`m not aware they sell these on at a reduced price, but I wait to be corrected on that comment.
  12. I wonder if we are being taken for a ride with Bachmann, do they believe that we British Modellers are so gullible enough to pay this sort of money for a remarketed 20? year old product at today’s inflated prices, just so it is able to be operated on a DCC layout. Or will it end up by not selling in the numbers they forecast and in a few months time we will see it being heavily discounted. Today I noticed that the Midland Compound (31-932DC) which had a similar price tag to this Ivatt is now being sold by Rails for £79.50 which is some £80 discount on the original RRP of £159.95, and that is for a completely new model. And if I`m being honest this is the amount I would have expected to pay for this revamped Ivatt. No doubt prices will increase even more over the coming months / years and I can see a time coming when only the better off will be able to afford these products, that is, if they are still being produced for the mass market.
  13. ....And have some taken to wearing lipstick? A magnificent set of painted figures, I only wish that I could come anyway near this perfection.
  14. If you look onto the Wizard models web site it states that “3mm version has been tested down to 3ft radius in all modes, and will also traverse 2ft curves when coupled, but not when pushing in the delay mode. So, if using the 3mm version with tight radii, set your magnet positions accordingly”
  15. Ben What have you found is the optimum strength / size of these neodymium’s for use between the sleepers to successfully operate the S&W coupling? Looking at the list of magnets from your link, some are pretty powerful and I can visualise that some of the larger strength ones would have the unnecessary problem of attracting the metal wheels on the wagon rather than the bottom link of the coupling.
  16. I know it sounds a silly question with using these UV marker pens – what happens if you move house or when you or your next of kin dispose of your security marked stock, if it contains your post code? I did read that it can`t be removed, that`s the whole point of marking your property in the first place. I suppose that if you do convert an outbuilding into a layout room, the golden rule is not to let anybody know what’s in there, especially hard if you have children or grand children, as word soon gets around. In my first house I had a layout in the garage and my 2 off spring were growing up. But it didn`t take very long before they were telling all their friends that their Daddy has got a big railway layout in their garage, fortunately nothing untoward happened, but it did worry me. I watched a Crime Watch type TV Programme some time ago where a “converted” Burglar was saying that one of the biggest deterrents he experienced was see a BEWARE OF THE DOG sign on a property, even better to see some evidence of a dog living there such as a kennel or a large water bowl, but big bones no, that’s a giveaway. Even though he almost certain that there was no dog living there, he wouldn`t take that chance to burgle the property, as some dogs just sit quietly and would let you in, but not let you out.
