  1. Please be advisd of the latest build review for the Signature Kits ICI Hopper Wagon as detailed below:- Signature Kits PHV Hopper (modernimageogauge.co.uk) This has been undertaken by a member of the MIOG Group. It provides a very detailed overview of the build so people can see the work involved in the construction of this kit. Kind regards Iain
  2. I wish Simon a speedy recovery and I hope in the coming months to receive my order when he is able to respond etc.
  3. Can anyone please assist I am looking to design and build an O Gauge layout in a extension to my house. Its in an Orangery measuring 15'6'' x 13' I already have the boards in place around the room based on 11mm ply tops and on 3' x 1" timber frame with shelving underneath for storage. The main control panel will be in the middle of the room with a control panel to cover all operational aspects including power, points and signalling in the future. At this stage I am purely looking for a reasonable design to incorporate the following key themes and aspects:- BR period 1950- 68 preferable MIdland Region An engine shed and locomotive servicing depot with T/T (I have a 70ft turntable to install) A shunting and marshalling yard and smallish good depot for all types of freight traffic The scope for including appropriate back scenes and detailing of the layout operation The ability to have a continuous track tun with say 5'6 radius curves to enable medium freight and passenger trains to operate on a potential single track section if it can be incorporated. I am also open to building upwards to an elevated section in the longer term. I appreciate that this seem's a lot to include in a constrained space and there will in inevitably be compromises along the way but if anybody has any collateral to assist in this process all suggestions would be very welcome and gratefully received. I am new to layout building so it's a voyage of adventure for myself and I reckon a a 5 year time frame for its construction but who knows with this kind of project? Many Thanks Iain Gould

  9. Signature Kits are pleased to announce a new kit to go with both steam and diesel traction that reflects the lime stone traffic from the Peak District Quarries to the ICI works at Northwich. The kit will be offered in both kit form and or ready to run. The kit can be detailed in both the steam era 1946 - 1968 and the diesel era post 1968 to 1992 so it offers the modeller of the modern era of BR plenty of scope. The kits will be complete with all wheels and transfer for the appropriate era chosen by the customer and we offer a weathering service if required as part of the ready to run service being offered. 13. It looks a lovely kit the 4F is one on my bucket list I have recently bought the MOK Standard 4 Kit via a third party (including Slaters wheels and a ABC and Maxon combo for the motor and gear box) but having looked through the box its appears to be lovely the etches and castings first rate. I will watch you progress with much interest and see how it goes so far it looks very good. The two kits I will procure in the next few months from MOK will be the 4F and the Standard 4 Tank. kind regards Iain
  14. This is to say a big thank you for all those people who attended and supported the show at Leigh on Saturday, also to all the traders who attended, all in all it has been preceived as a very good day for all involved. The Show Committee are taking on board any potential areas for improvement and these will be reflected in the planning for the 2019 event. Many Thanks Iain Gould Scale O North West Show Committe
  15. Let's be clear on this its both a trade and a model railway show in its truest sense. There would be no show without people like yourself who provide the critical trade support that people come to the show for. If you did a poll I think that the majority attend the show for the large elements of trade support and to review the layouts secondary. Yes, I agree with your sentiment that it could be misconstrued as being purely a trade show if it purely stated trade show, but does not it state Model Railway and Trade show on the adverts. I will speak to the committee around the wording of future adverts to remove any potential ambiguity. Regards Iain

For the last 20 years the exhibition has been held in Romiley Methodist Church. This year is the club’s 27th Exhibition.Romiley Methodist Railway Modellers was established in 1997 to put the previously ad hoc arrangements onto a formal footing. Club membership is open to those of all faiths and of none. The annual show is a joint venture between the Church and RMRM, with all the proceeds going to Action for Children (formerly known as ‘NCH’, and before that as the ‘National Children’s Home’). In recent years we’ve managed to raise over £1,000. Unlike many club shows, RMRM makes no financial gain from the show. Indeed, it subsidises it. Over the last decade, the show has taken on its own distinctive character. It is now firmly family-orientated, with many drive-it-yourself layouts and other inter-active features, as well as the traditional don’t touch, fully-scenic dioramas. Will visitors please note to kindly leave the on-site for those with limited mobility, there are large car-parks some 500m from the venue and Romiley Train Station and bus stops are only 400m away. External layouts exhibiting include:- N Gauge “Enngage” (Rainhill MRC), 0 Gauge “Scola Green” (Morecambe and Heysham MRC), 00 “Leeds Weeklyn Hill’ (E Farms), 16mm “Fflugen Station FR Layout’ (C Mckenzie), WW2 theme war-gaming (East Lancashire Historical Games) plus many other RMM club layouts.
