  1. Hi Steve Fantastic article and interesting read, as a very close friend of mine, (not a modeller) had serious mental health issues some years ago, but thankfully has got through the worst and is now actually offering his help to friends and local people with similar issues. I cannot experience what people go through but it is good to know that there is help out there outside the (useless) NHS. Keep up the excellent modelling work mate, always an inspiration!! Cheers, Rob.
  2. Hmmmm! I'm not sure about her taste in attire or the kids school uniform (still amazing paintwork though!), but the rest of the 'workers' look really good! Regards, Deano.
  3. Belated 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY" Ade. Enjoy the holiday!!! Regards, Deano.
  4. That looks like our resident Brian Daniels reporting for duty before he retired! Regards, Deano.
  5. Hi Ade, I'm not sure of your budget, but have a look at Steve Fays Diorama on these pages; some very impressive trees from abroad! ...and some home made! Regards, Rob (Deano)
  6. Just measured my 00 Ratio canopy on their "GWR" station building and its 54mm from base to ridge. I can't guarantee it's the same as the one in your OP, but looks similar. I'll try and post a pic tomorrow. Regards, Rob (Deano)
  7. It's a start Ade, it takes a lot of foliage.... Regards, Rob (Deano)
  8. Hi Ade, hope the effects soon wear off. Out of interest, which did you have? (Obviously its confidential if you so desire and I won't be offended if you say so) I have my second shot next week. (Pfizer) No effects from the first so we'll see?! Holding breath! Regards, Deano.
  9. I like the rust effect on the door rails! Very effective, George. Regards, Rob.
  10. Invaluable!! I have the 14" Avonside one that Eileens do, and a cheaper version 8" and 2" which are great for smaller components. (Although the big one is as good for small bits, I find it easier to pick up and work in your hands as opposed to on the bench with larger components; if that makes sense?!) These work just as well despite not quite as well finished as the Avonside one. Usual disclaimer applies. Regards, Rob.
  11. Hi Ken That looks like a tricky little kit, a bit like DJ Parkins kits?! Very nice result though. Regards, Deano.
  12. Have a look here, might be useful advice. I'm no expert but, I bought a cheap chinese one for learning with and also have in my stock an Iwata Neo TRN2 and a Badger 200 Both excellent brushes but if you want to spray large areas the Sparmax 850 seems a popular choice due to the larger capacity cup (125ml) Compressors are again dependant on you usage. I have a mini one for airbrushing, a 6L for general use, tyres, spray cleaning, air gun cleaning, etc. and a 50L for my grit blaster (far too big for general use!) A must have is a moisture trap/filter and for obvious reasons oil free operation. There are far more experts in this field out there, this is just my setup! Good luck Regards, Deano
  13. Hi Zach Like others, I've just found your thread. You've certainly made an impressive start in 7mm modelling and I will be following with interest. Keep up the good progress. (GWR and LSWR/SR fan myself) Regards, Deano.
  14. Great pictures of the progress!! Seasons greetings, good luck with the new employment, and here's to a better year ahead??! Regards, Deano.
  15. Belated Seasons greetings, Simon. Here's to a better 2021??! Regards, Deano.
  16. I go with a tiny blob of blu-tac, as per Dagworth, on the end of a blunt cock-tail stick. I never thought of the clutch pencil idea as kitpw!! Thanks for that one!! Regards, and seasons greetings to All, Deano.
  17. For information, Raymond sadly passed away earlier this year. I hope his website continues for some time, as it is a very useful source, from a very talented builder. Regards, Deano.
  18. Lovely clean work, Ken. The invisible solder strikes again!!! Regards, Deano.
  19. Hi Ken I have the Midland large drill table with round bars; very useful. I also have Eileen's 14" hold and fold; wouldn't be without it. Anything longer, which is unlikely for me, two lengths of aluminium angle clamped together. Regards, Deano.
  20. At 4" x 4" I think too small. Also I cannot see how you would clamp and bend straight lengths of sheet material? Regards, Deano.
  21. I remember years ago when you could work on your own car, you never got brake fluid anywhere near your bodywork. A friend's, very p!$$3d off wife poured it all over the bonnet of his prized BMW!!! Mind you, he did deserve it!! Like you say, not sure it's the same today?! Regards, Deano.
