Are you using the hex crankpins?
-
Apparantley there was a train from Birkenhead docks called the flying skipper.
-
May be of interest.

Very nice.
Could you tell me more about your ash and inspection pits? Its something im doing on my layout at the moment. It looks like you've used peco ones in some areas? Regauged?
Ive also got one across a baseboard join like yours, they are cut out now just awaiting track laying in EM gauge.
-
I like the inner boiler tube on the front of the cab, good idea.
-
yeah its an excellent site, regularly look in.
-
also make sure when using the brass back to back gauge the wheels are not tight in the gauge, a very tiny bit of play.
-
Ive standardised on Romford 3 hole wheels for all my wagons now,all pre 1970s wagons.Get them with Parkside kits anyway, pulled out with 2 pairs of pliers, then clean up the plastic bush with a scalpel if any is slightly showing as itll rub on the back of the axlebox area.
all my Bachmann 16t minerals have them, havent bothered with bearings on then.
Id recommend these than the Bachmann rtr ones, not expensive either. dont like any other make, these are nice and tight and are not likely to move on the axle which some others do.

Thats great Ive got some slatted louvres to make for a building on my layout and was pondering how to do them, excellent work and very useful shots.

-
only 32 more to go for a empty return train to Birkenhead
-
does the 4mm version have the rivets proud or do you have to punch them out like the 7mm version?
-
id love a rake of these, I made a bit of a pigs ear of a 7mm version but would like a rake in 4mm.

Are you using the Markits return crank on the centre axle or is that the Bachmann one?
