  7. On Facebook there is a great bit of footage of the Gorton crane and its vehicles which I would like to identify. Early on in this video.. https://www.facebook.com/groups/241602306609299/permalink/1477803152989202
  8. What evidence do we know of these working the west side of Woodhead after electrification? I do have evidence of them in the late 40s and early 50s on the Cheshire Lines committee lines into Liverpool but I’m hoping to find some evidence of them working there later to fit in with my layout timescale of the late 1950s early 60s.
  9. Thank you for that. I hadn’t noticed the chimney, easy change if can obtain the correct type. Mike
  10. Can i re number one to 68585 without any detail changes? I’m not sure of any of detail differences on these. This one was based at Walton on the Hill Liverpool shed. A location I am modelling. Also interested in the axle arrangement for regauging to EM. Mike
  11. Annual exhibition held at Old Christ church Waterloo. Full details on website. https://www.lmrs.org.uk/Exhibition/Location.html traders.. https://www.lmrs.org.uk/Exhibition/Traders.html
  12. Great work Steve, look forward to receiving them. Those are the best photographs we had of those signals at Fazakerley West Junction, no doubt some other photos will now turn up.
  13. Looking good Steve. That is the only shot I have of that signal and only recently did I manage to get it as a hi res shot. Shots of that area are very rare, I recently managed to get one of that area looking in that direction but steam from a train was covering the signal. I reckon this was a 1950s replacement, I have a shot where you can see the original Cheshire Lines signal which was lower quadrant and instead of having the 3 stacked arms had a theatre box. On a plan we can just see the signal you are building but it is has been erased. Mike
  14. 04/8 being cut up at Langwith Junction 1966. Pics from Facebook.
  15. And John Ward’s notes for the day, ph next to the number means he took a photo.
  16. It’s actually OLE not OHLE nowadays but that’s enough taking the thread way off topic.:) On 4th November 1961, 60 years ago today, Gorton's 63743 stands at the neck of Walton shed yard while Walton's own 44605 passes with a 41 wagon freight heading for Huskisson Goods. Photograph: John Ward. The first shot I’ve seen of this end of the yard, Ive only just been shown it today, Just in front of the wagon is where the turntable was. And we can now see the shed exit ground signal in front of the 4f, it’s position was always a mystery. We got this area quite accurate, but we can get it even more so now thanks to this shot.
  17. What’s it look like underneath with regards possibly regauging to EM?
  18. Yes they were split in to shorter rakes and taken there by Mersey docks and harbour board locos. You can see them in the right background in Huskisson with the line under Sandhills station going off to the right.
