  1. If anyone is familiar with the shot on Diesels and electrics on 35mm 2 of the class 40 departing a yard with a rake of cemflos. That is Widnes Tanhouse Lane goods. If you look here you can see 3 in a siding. http://disused-stations.org.uk/t/tan_house_lane/index21.shtml?fbclid=IwAR2534LJR00gACouLArf19Irur7UkPQUnHsbFTNGpOi6GfphJp9sQN3aVk4
  2. New TEA wagons at Brunswick Liverpool. Brian Taylor shot used with permission. No steam loco in view but steam was still used in the area at this time.
  3. Could be a steam loco on the front.. Flickr link. https://www.flickr.com/photos/95062750@N04/9261798811/in/photolist-f7Fh4U-f7Fh8C-f7r97p-f7r146-f7Fkty
  4. Forward to first principles and The great highway. My Michael Collins book arrived today and it reminded me of a shot which I had forgotten about and that was the new Ford containers for the Belgium service at Brunswick Liverpool. One train I may recreate in the future.
  5. Some interesting photos here.. http://www.stilltimecollection.co.uk/search/q/0-3,1,4,2-3-0-0-0-1-1-Roadrailer.html and here http://www.stilltimecollection.co.uk/detail/33679-tpt-transport-truck-lorry-wagon-train-station-rail-railway-british-railways-road-carriageway-lane-railer-intermodal-probably-marylebone-goods-yard-c-1960.html
  6. Just converted one of these to EM with existing wheels pulled out and some plastic on the inside of the bogies removed as-well as on the brake shoes. Looks like the wheels may now foul the chassis of the wagon on a curve. Yet to try it out on the layout. Just wondering has anyone else had an issue.
  7. Here’s mine having a run out, absolutely superb! Didn't miss a beat straight out of the box. front coupling missing was my doing.
  8. My rake converted to EM and having a run, run really nice, containers are just placed on here as I haven't done the spigots yet.
  9. Flickr link, some Interesting early containers.
  10. As the camera pans round, b&r video Shap steam twilight. Blurred but can see the pipework.
  11. I posted this in the Bachmann thread also, screenshot from the BTF film The great Highway 1966.
  12. Maybe the same loco? flickr link..
  13. Thanks Paul, I ordered the Michael Collins book a few days ago.
  14. Can just make out the white “through piped” Air pipe which these coaches will have had to have had added. So they cant have just used any old coach there must have been some dedicated ones.
  15. Clip, new Freightliner depot at Gushetfaulds 1965. https://movingimage.nls.uk/film/T2045/74958491
  16. Conversion to EM gauge, pulling wheels out on existing axles. Made a little trickier because of the disc brakes and trimming a little bit of plastic from the back of the bogie sides will help.
  17. Same one as on the front of the Mecanno magazine linked to on the last page?
  18. Can anyone identify the type of coach behind the 47? My Bachmann wagons have arrived, they are very nice. Just a casual interest but has anyone modelled any 27ft containers?
  19. The Screengrabs of footage I posted on the last page also appears on British railways 1948-1994 from Goods to railfreight DVD. But a little bit more footage of a lengthy run past and the number is clearly visible as D1514. I think it is the same occasion as reported above. Its from British transport films but not one that has been released on DVD yet, I think it is rail report 4. Does anyone recognise the station In the aerial screengrabs? Could it be in the Cufley area?
