  1. Worth adding that Kato will be launching some tight radius 009 Unitrack later this year, same radius as their N track but with 009 size sleepers and spacing.
  2. "Delivery and Protection charge" - what's a "protection" charge?
  3. Shame, my daughter's other half just sold his Mx5, 56 reg for just over £3k.
  4. Blimey, they're not cheap! I think I'll stick with the BTTB VT135 for my conversion!!
  5. Quite sensible. I wonder in the future we'll see injuries coming through in the top drivers like we have in Rugby and Football (and Boxing).
  6. I was simply asking if the two videos were directly comparable, Bachmann were defending the integrity of an employee which, at least to me, shows a caring employer, were Rapido? If not, then "Rapido 1 Bachmann 0" is rather a pointless comment, if they were than I feel the score should be the other way round.
  7. I am not going to go and find that video and add to his coffers, but in fairness to Bachmann and their employee, was it directly comparable, i.e. did it poke fun at someone's disability?
  8. Maybe, maybe not, I see it more as an extension of that sort of behaviour with the added bonus (and incentive) that they will get paid for doing it.
  9. Every forum I've ever been on has posts from people who have "something" against a particular manufacturer and will do anything to "express" their views. If you haven't seen that you really must have kept your head very low!
  10. Garry says thanks and he knows it is not a criticism about his rule 1 layout comment. The TT 120 none Hornby models are Peppercorn A1's, Britannia's, rebuilt W/C (modified Britannia), Castle - Corgi diecast (Castle my own chassis but no slidebars made). Unrebuilt W/C, Q1, J69, USA dock tank - Shapeways. Lord Nelson, B12, A5, J39, 8F, Claude, N2, Prairie, J50, Stanier 2-6-4, all diesels - Lincoln Locos. There are 2 more Lincoln Locos bodies being printed this week, one diesel and then one very new steam loco only finished by Lenny about 2 weeks ago and never advertised yet. For those who have looked on the Lincoln-Locos site and noticed there is nothing in the TT 120 section, Lenny will print any of his 3mm bodies off at 120 scale if asked. On a personal note, I only wish I had Garry's skills with chassis and able to do what he's done. I'm afraid my attempts in H0e have not been quite as successful which tends to make me be patient and hope that Hornby do produce the locos I want in time!
  11. I agree it'll be a while before someone else starts making British RTR TT120, but I'd lay good odds they're watching developments at Hornby very closely... As you say maybe in a couple of years... Someone on FB said their Mk3 coaches are due tomorrow...
  12. Just to clarify things regarding Garry's layout, it is all TT120, the only reference to 3mm is that the track gauge is the same! The majority of his conversions/3d bodies use a Hornby A1 chassis. Peppercorn A1s, Britannias, Stanier tank, A5 tank, B12, Lord Nelson, West Country (rebuilt and unrebuilt) A couple of locos, Q1 and J39, use an old Triang Jinty chassis free wheeling with a Halling motor bogie in the tender. 2 very small locos, J69 and USA dock tank, use a chassis made by a 3mm society member but are/were sold to the public from Oak Tree Engineering. Diesels use a Halling bogie, Peak, Co-Bo, Hymek, Warship, Baby Deltic.
  13. I wasn't specifically referring to transfer of technical knowledge/car setups but more about how the team is set up/works, etc.. There's still ability to find better ways of working and I expect top drivers like Lewis and Max would be much more switched on than the older "seat of the pants" drivers.
  14. According to their website it's an "Innowagon" which I don't think is used over here. But there are so many different types of wagon used for containers in the UK that I'm sure there'll be something that's close.
  15. Any driver worth his salt will be able to transfer a lot of things over from team to team, at the very least compare ways they work and get the best of the two.
  16. I would agree that it's not going to give a big return in the time it's been out and as many of us have said numerous times to similar posts to yours that have been there earlier I'd suggest you come back in 5 years and tell us if it was a mistake or a risk that paid off. Until then it's just speculation, and rather pointelss at that! Which is what they are doing with the 66, however there aren't all that many locos which have appeal to both British and Continental modellers so in my opinion their priority if they want it to succeed must be to target the British market. That's where the growth will be and it seems that's what they are doing. After all this is supposed to be British TT, not some sort of hybrid. Interestingly it's noticable that several German model railway shops have teken the current releases in stock and I've seen many Continental modellers who have them on their Tt layouts. It would seem the choice of and A1/3 and A4 were wise choices to get themselves noticed abroad.
  17. Just looking at the photo used for this video and it looks like it's a photo of a 00 scale model, not just the detail on it, but in the background there's 2001 and Gresley coaches, neither of which are available in TT, nor a loco with the number of the one on the left! The point doesn't appear to be Hornby or Peco TT either. EDIT: Must have seen my post because the photo has changed!! 🤣
  18. What "hole" is that, then, pray tell us more?!
  19. I suspect it's like when Mansell went there, he's got his titles so the only thing left is to be able to say that he drove for Ferrari, a status symbol if nothing else...
  20. Yes, I agree, Les, when it's been discussed before I've said the same thing. I suspect that up until now they've thought the market for those classes as too small, but if they see TT take off in the UK they'll do them.
  21. Never bought any of it but feels that he can criticise it without any experience or evidence to back up his criticisms (except for quoting Sam's seriously bad "survey"), sounds just like several posters on this thread! His video is well titled, though, it certainly is tragic, sad and pish!
  22. Sounds like someone isn't happy with the decission...

    On Cats

And found I'd left my cat behind... ;)
  24. It's had all it's track laid and the baseboard joiners put in, I'm now in the process of wiring it up. It's developed a bit since the OP, I found I couldn't get what i wanted (a rough copy of Garstang Town) in the space I had so it's much simplified. If you look at the photo, on the right will be an island platform (I have the bits to make it!), just to the left will be storage sidings in full view with a small loco deptor at the top, then there will be a road with terrace houses and a small factory in half relief with a backscene and fiddle yard behind. At present locos are by necessity LNER and Continental but the Duchess and coaches are on order. Unlike the knockers on the Hornby TT120 thread I'm patient and will await suitable locos and may even buy some Lincoln models ones when I can figure what chassis I want (I'd really like a 25 and Jubilee).
