It's a fifth generation Corolla, launched in 1983 so could fit in either thread as my cut-off was the mid 80s! I've just ordered a new Corolla which is the twelfth generation!

Some dedicated people have set up websites where you can find out info like that but they tend to cover just one manufacturer. The excellent Triang and Egger-Bahn ones spring to mind.

she's already done a stress-wee by the back door as a dirty protest.
I'd have thought that more likely to be territory scent marking?

I'll survive, but it was the last shop where EU-residents could shop without extra tax/customs etc. Now it's more Modelbahnunion for me, or straight from the respective sources.
From what I've seen in the last few pages I suspect it's going to be more overseas buyers that will miss them more than UK buyers, whilst they will be missed by us in the UK there's already plenty of alternatives, it seems that's not the case for UK modellers overseas. Maybe someone will fill the gap, maybe not.

I notice a bit of glee in your post.
You didn't, what you did do, though, was read something into the post that wasn't there.
I was simply "smiling" at his comment about it being "downhill" from here, nothing more, and certainly not wishing for other shops to follow suit. In fact as I commented there are other shops available which are as good, it's not the end of the world, an era, perhaps, but not the world.

It's all downhill from now.
🤣
I think you'll find there's life after Hattons, many of us hardly ever used them... And survived!

The high rise flats in the back make me think it might be looking towards Woodside, but I'm from the North East, so I don't know Glasgow that well. If it were Dundee or Aberdeen I probably wouldn't be asking the question......
Could be. I used to live on Hillhead Street and walk into the centre across the motorway, also drove in and out using the strange junctions around there. That's why I thought West End when I first saw it. Perhaps someone will come along shortly and put us out of our misery!

Yes but they are the best name in VW group, none of this silly Audi nonsense, nice solid Skodas.
TBH the only VW group name I would consider buying.
The running gear is the same, engines, gearboxes, etc. During my ownership of several Fabias it was noticeable that any spares were labeled VW!

They haven't failed. They're just pulling out of the market. They're still solvent.

Or does it just mean that their assets exceeded their debts...

There was one parked in the Travelodge/Duke of Gloucester pub car park last Summer. Sherry's son-in-law's father worked at the factory. Yes, the pub theme is 71000.
Can afford the car but then not afford decent accommodation, I think I'd be doing it the other way round!

To save me going through over 1000 posts, is there a reason the shop side of things isn't being sold on as a going concern?

Some similarities to that incident at Chesterfield a few years ago, dropped phone onto track and went to retrieve it... I was chatting to the EMR staff the next day and they were still shaken by it...

I still can't quite fathom why Ford made an electric SUV and called it a 'Mustang' though.
The name sells.

Cows milk is for calves and nobody else.
Neither is soya meant to be made into milk, but people do... At least we humans have been drinking the cow stuff for thousands of years and it tastes nice! ;)

On that basis if a kitten is given milk then it, too, won't be lactose intolerant? I have to admit that we've had several cats that loved milk and suffered no ill effects, present one included. I always find it strange that this instruction not to give cats milk has suddenly appeared whereas many old films show cats being given milk. I wonder if it's somehow linked with the seeming increase in more humans having food allergies, perhaps modern diets and additives have more to answer for than we realise.

Even with traction tyres you'll still get some pick-up from the tt'd wheels as the flange will still come into contact with the rail from time to time?

I heard he's said he's exhausted, not surprising really, he arrived just as Pep arrived at City and they have "history". It'll be interesting if he takes a break or goes straight back into the fray in another country.
Anyone else watch that programme on the Beeb about Pep, most of it concentrating in his time with Barca and Bahern, but explained why he does what he does.
