Fox transfers to the rescue for one of the Farewell headboards. The winged thistle one they’ve produced for a while…..
-
Dear 37114, Looking at the grilles I’d say the radiator grilles are separate items. They fit very tightly but I reckon they’re not part of the main body moulding.

I was intending resisting the new batch of Deltics but having seen images of them succumbed. I’ve corrected the eth cables on 55022 & painted them black. As regards 55015 I’ve blinged this up & added Railtec 3D Rainhill plaques to the headcode panels. Both models have been further enhanced with Protoneo self adhesive etched nameplates which match exactly the size of the factory applied nameplates. Would be great if somebody was to produce Deltic Farewell headboards in 0 !

Received my 37051 model today & very pleasing it is too. I had to refix two items of loose glazing but as the body comes off very easily the task wasn’t daunting at all. The redesigned bogie chain fixing helped too as I’d accidentally dislodged one. The shape, the detailing & the finish are all up to Accurascale’s usual standard. I’m very impressed how easily the bufferbeam pipework slots into their respective apertures. No filing to remove excess plastic or thick paint was required. Looking forward to several more other versions when they arrive. -
Did the transfers all survive intact ? Lighter rubbing across those & the windows ? The yellow ends are far too dirty. Thankyou
-
If one was to remove the weathering from the EFE 144’s what would be the best method please ? The factory weathering is a little heavy for my liking. Many Thanks.
-
Apologies but I’ve not run mine yet.
-
No sandboxes in the box. I’m hoping that Rails of Sheffield will receive some for onward transmission to purchasers. Just hope that they are weathered to match the bogies.
-
Very impressed with my 27032. The factory weathering is certainly getting even better than some previous models. The instructions for affixing the snowploughs are incorrect & for a different design for fixing.

I messaged Hornby spares requesting a pair of their black plastic drawhooks at least & was told that those items weren’t part of the original moulding & therefore couldn’t be supplied as spares. Good job I had some Accurascale screw links handy. Luckily my models are for static display only.
-
Somebody previously mentioned the basic moulded drawhook/screw link coupling so I replaced mine with a grey spray painted Accurascale product ……
-
Pretty impressed with my 45033. The lifting points are a pain to handle with tweezers & I half expected them plus the draw hook & screw link couplings not to be weathered to match the rest of the loco. A nice model though.

Had to reattach a bogie chain after a neighbour’s daughter picked the model up roughly !! I wasn’t a happy bunny !!
