  1. John, most enjoyable vid. Thanks for sharing that.

Alco, you can get away with flashing ditch lights on UP and BN depending on where they got the loco from and whether or not they've bothered to rewire them.

Paul, I wouldn't use a wood burner or any flame based heat source. It may be more expensive to run but stick with electric for safety. I use a small greenhouse heater to keep the temp above 5c on cold days. Depending on the size and the insulation in your shed, a 2kw unit should suffice. £19.99 at the Orange coloured DIY shop. They work out to be around 15p an hour in 1kw mode or about 30p when you want it warmer. Mine runs about 50% of the time at night in a 12 by 24 shed so its costs me about £1.70/day on really cold days but averages out to around 60p over the past 2 months. I also have a heat exchanger/aircon unit which I got half price at the same place for £129. Its a lot more efficient and keeps the shed at a constant 19c when I'm working in there in winter, or 23c in aircon mode on the hottest summer days.

  2. I'll be watching this as well. Used to live in Charlton, just up Victoria Way. I like the concept. You could get away with moving the EMU shed closer to your traverser and calling that Maze Hill as it used to have a large number of carriage sidings. Putting another station with a pair of platforms in that lower left corner would also add to the 'play value' of the layout. The distance between it and Charlton would be hidden by the rat-run.

As for the Angerstein's triangle, you'd really have to go back in time as the southern leg of it was removed prior to 1895. biggrin.gif
