  1. Hi Blandford, I don't mind if it's a kit or a Bachmann tender. Regards, Mark
  2. Hi, I'm building two Dapol Class 4 2-6-0 mogul kits, using the Branchlines detailing parts, chassis, Markits wheels etc. As they are to run on a BR (SR) layout, I would like to build one, equipped with a BR1B tender. Unfortunately, the Wizard Models kit has been OOS, for quite some time and is not due to be restocked any time soon, due to a supply problem with the white metal castings, in the kit. I've been looking around to see if there are any for sale, and also tried Bachmann, with no luck. So I'm putting out this appeal, that if anyone has a spare BR1B tender, I'd be interested in purchasing it, please. A black one would be ideal, although not critical, as I could respray it, if a different colour. Regards, Mark
  3. Hi, Anybody know off the top of their head, the answer to the above, please? I'm building a layout, based on the year of my birth. Grateful, in advance, for any help, please. Kind regards, Mark Addendum - The reason I ask, is, that when first rebuilt, BR ordered replacement black nameplates for the locos. However, over the course of time, like many things, with these locomotives, they started being changed back to red and they weren't all done at the same time. The fact that Hornby supply it with black plates, doesn't mean anything, other than it carried a black nameplate, at some point. I've seen a couple of B&W photos of the loco in 1965, and it's fitted with red plates, easy to tell, even though the photos are monochrome. I've also seen a photo of the loco, in the condition depicted by Hornby, with black nameplates and late crest, dated 1959.
  4. Hello All, I'm looking for chassis kits with the above wheelbase, to assess which is the most suitable to put under a LSWR 0395 Class. I know the Comet 4F chassis would do the job, but if anyone knows of any others, I'd be very grateful if you could let me know, please. Kind regards, Mark
