  1. Hi all, We've just finished our live Q&A featuring both MDF and plywood boards, as well as a range of questions answered. Cheers, Dave
  2. Hi all, Thanks to all of you for the extensive feedback provided so far. With the addition of the Plywood modules, I thought it best to 'start again' with the thread to save any confusion on what materials and modules are available. I've amended the original post to contain all the latest info, and a selection of posts prior to the Plywood module launch have been removed. This is solely to save any future confusion, especially for those who are reading the thread from the start. Thanks again for your support and please continue to share your thoughts, either in this thread or in the Disqus box on our website. Cheers, Dave

  7. Hi all, We’re pleased to share the engineering samples of our Genesis 4 & 6 wheel coaches. These initial undecorated samples showcase the exquisite levels of detail we're striving for with our new coaches, the different coach type variations as well as some of the more subtle detail differences such as alternative roof furniture and wheel types. As with all engineering samples, there are some changes to be made and they are subject to review. Videos of the samples running as well as detailed photos can be viewed via the following link: Hattons Originals Genesis coaches - Engineering Prototypes As ever, please let us know what you think in this thread or via the Disqus box on our website. Cheers, Dave

We'll also be specifying the colours used by each company for their first, second and/or third class seating. The colour layouts for the interiors are being worked on currently but we'll have something to show in due course :-) Cheers, Dave

  11. Hi Nick, We've worked closely with individual historians and groups who have restored 4 and 6 wheel coaches, as well as a wealth of historical info, photos and specifications. However, we're always keen to add to our knowledge base where we can. If you have any info you think may benefit the Genesis project, if you could get in touch via info@hattons.co.uk it'd be very much appreciated. Cheers, Dave
  12. Hi Cofga, The axles on the models won't be magnetic so the coaches should have absolutely no issues with under-rail magnets. Cheers, Dave
  13. Hi all, Lets end the week with another interactive livery render. This time we're looking at our Genesis coaches in GWR chocolate and cream. 14. Hi DK123GWR, Thanks for the message and sorry for the confusion. This item has been fitted with TTS digital sound by the previous owner, however it has retained its original digital status (8 pin DCC ready) on our listings. I've passed this to our team to amend the listing now. Any amendments from the original product (additions, defects etc) will be added to the product title and this should be regarded first and foremost as an accurate reflection of the items condition. If you have any queries regarding any listings, its best to get in touch directly with our team who are available 24/7 via phone, livechat or email. Cheers, Dave
  15. Thanks Matt, well spotted! This has now been amended. Cheers, Dave
  16. Hi Cor-onGRT4, Thanks for the message and sorry to hear you're having issues. We don't charge for any pre-order until the item arrives with us, and the item should only appear in your Trunk once it has arrived into stock also. We have had fresh stock delivered of some of Hornby's latest GWR brake vans over the last couple of days so this may be the item involved. If you can get in touch with our Customer Experience team by calling +441514591661 or sending an email to info@hattons.co.uk we'll get this sorted for you. Cheers, Dave
  17. Hi all, Lets start the week with our final set (from Batch 1) of Hattons Genesis approved colour layouts. 20. Thanks Compound2632, I've looked at this and contemporary images too and have amended the colour layout as below. As before, if you (and others) can let me know what you think it'd be appreciated. Cheers, Dave
  21. Hi BlueLightning, Apologies for not being clearer - these are two separate points that should have been on separate lines to distinguish them in my original post. The 4 (ex 6) wheel coaches are being produced based on vehicles that had the centre axle removed in real life. The models of the 6 wheel (and '4 ex 6' wheel) vehicles will have the cutout in the running boards which is a design element on the models to allow for operation through tighter radius curves. I've edited the original post to clarify this too. Cheers, Dave
  22. Hi all, Thanks for the feedback. Here's a revised version of the LMS colour layout following notes above. The yellow lining is thicker and both the mahogany around the windows and black panelling has been added. If you can let us know what you think, it would be appreciated. The 4 (ex 6) wheel coaches are modelled on coaches that had their centre wheelset removed, and this is how these vehicles will be produced in model form too. The footboards will retain the gap where the wheelset is removed, as per the colour layouts. Cheers, Dave
  23. Hi all, Today we're showing the approved colour layouts for the Genesis coaches in LMS crimson lake. These will carry the initial 'Period I' livery and also show the smoking signs added following feedback. Appropriate smoking signage for each livery will be added to the coaches and we'll be showing the revised colour layouts in due course. Colour layouts for all vehicles can be viewed and pre-orders placed via the link below: Hattons Genesis Coaches - LMS crimson lake As always, please let me know what you think either here on via Disqus on our website. Cheers, Dave

  25. Hi GreenGiraffe22, Thanks for the feedback! We haven't produced the approved artwork for the departmental SR version yet, but we'll be showing it here once its ready.
