  1. Hi all, Its time for the next set of Genesis coach colour layouts with today's covering the London and North Western Railway vehicles. These are to be produced in the fully ornate Plum and Split Milk livery. (We're aware that the name (either Spilt or Split Milk) can divide opinion ) Colour layouts for all vehicles can be viewed and pre-orders placed via the link below: Hattons Genesis Coaches - LNWR livery colour layouts As always, please let me know what you think either here on via Disqus on our website. Cheers, Dave
  2. Hi all, The image above is taken from the rendering software which includes an artificial light source. This will have an impact on the colours shown similar to looking at a model in direct sunlight, so will appear lighter and darker from certain angles. I'd recommend looking at the render in the viewer via the link below to see it in different lighting conditions. The colour itself will be as specified in the colour layouts which can also be found below: Hattons Genesis coaches SECR livery 3D render Cheers, Dave
  3. Hi all, The second Hattons Genesis update today is another full colour render, this time in SECR livery. You can view this from any angle in our 3D viewer without any additional software needed. Click the link below to view the render and pre-order your coaches: Hattons Genesis coaches SECR livery 3D render As always, let us know what you think either here or on the Disqus thread on our website. Cheers, Dave
  4. Hi all, A little late here due to the forum issues on Friday but here's the latest Genesis updates: The latest completed colour layouts are SR olive green. These have been produced for all the vehicles and can be seen and pre-ordered via the link below: Hattons Genesis coaches - SR green livery Cheers, Dave
  5. Hi all, Thanks for keeping the replies coming! A couple more points and answers: First Radius curves - the coaches have been specified to run on a minimum of second radius. As with a lot of small wheelbase items we may find that they also run on first radius too during testing of the 1st EPs. GWR lining - thanks for the messages regarding this, this has been corrected. Cheers, Dave
  6. Hi all, Thanks for the feedback so far! A couple of updates on a few discussion points: RE the middle axle on the 6 wheel coaches - we understand the need for these coaches to run well through both Setrack curves and finescale track, and we've based our mechanism on successfully running models made for the European market. Thoroughly testing this design is part of the extensive testing that will be carried out when we receive the first Engineering Prototypes of the coaches. Buffer shanks - thanks for the comments on these and these will be corrected to an authentic black colour. Cheers, Dave
  7. Hi all, We're heading West for today's set of colour layouts, showcasing the Hattons Genesis coach releases in GWR chocolate and cream. You can view full images and place orders via the link below: Hattons Genesis - GWR colour layouts. As always, I'm interested in any feedback so feel free to share your thoughts here or via the Disqus tab on our website. Cheers, Dave
  8. Hi Skinnylinny (and all) Thanks for the suggestion. These signs are planned to be added to some of the liveries we've not shown yet, but we can add the Smoking signs to the liveries already shown and we're keen to do so where appropriate. Whilst we've come across a number of the signs during our research we'd appreciate any further info any of you may have, in particular covering the pre-grouping eras. If any useful info can be sent to ideas@hattons.co.uk it'd be appreciated. Cheers, Dave
  9. Hi all, Here's our next batch of Genesis colour layouts. We're leaving the South behind for now and taking a first look at the Great Northern Railway vehicles. Please note that these colour layouts don't feature the wood grain finish but this will be present on decorated samples and the finished models. Check out the full images for all vehicles and pre-order yours via the link below: Hattons Genesis coaches - GNR colour layouts As always, please let us know what you think either in this thread or the Disqus box on our website. Cheers, Dave
  10. Apologies, I didn't have chance to share this properly here on Friday so for anyone who's missed it, please take a look at the link below. Hattons Genesis coach - LBSCR colour render As with all the other renders we've shown so far, you can view the coach from any angle you wish without any additional software. Keep an eye on our site as we'll be showing more livery renders soon :-) Cheers, Dave
  11. Hi Ray, Thanks for highlighting this - its now amended. Cheers, Dave
  12. Hi Ray, Yes, the full range of Genesis coaches are available to pre-order now at the prices quoted on the website. Follow the links through to the product pages if you want to place your order online, or feel free to give our orders team a call on 0151 733 3655 - they're available 24/7, 7 days a week. We don't charge you a penny for the coaches (or any pre-order) until they arrive into stock also. Cheers, Dave
  13. Hi all, We've chosen to produce the initial SECR shade used on its coaches, described in "Britains Railway liveries" as 'Bright lake'. This has also been carried on some vehicles in preservation, for example 2947 at the Kent & East Sussex Railway, which was one of the many vehicles we assessed in the early stages of the project. The darker shades (referred to as "Wellington brown" and "Maroon" in "Britains Railway liveries") were introduced later and have been replicated on models of the SECR 'Birdcage' coaches. The earlier style was chosen as the SECR's 4 and 6 wheel coaches were an every day feature in the company's earlier days, as opposed to during/post WW1 and their replacement with bogie stock. Hope that helps! Cheers, Dave
  14. Hi all, Here's our next set of full livery artwork for the Genesis coaches. We're staying in the South for now and showcasing the South Eastern and Chatham Railway liveried vehicles that will be produced. Full colour layouts for every coach can be seen on the website and pre-ordered via the link below: Hattons Genesis coaches - SECR livery artwork Thanks again for the feedback on the LB&SCR vehicles and let me know what you think about this latest livery. Cheers, Dave
  15. Hi Russ, The full release schedule and latest dates for all the Genesis coaches can be found on the Hattons website via the link below. Hattons Genesis coaches release information We'll also put any updates on there too, as well as sending them directly to customers with pre-orders (or registered interest) and of course updating this thread as well. Cheers, Dave
  16. Hi all, As well as the CADs, we're now producing the final colour layouts for the Genesis coaches. The first of these we're showing are the LB&SCR vehicles but I'll be sharing images of the other liveries over the next month. You can see all the colour layouts for the individual LB&SCR vehicles by clicking the link below: Hattons Genesis coaches - LB&SCR colour layouts As ever, please let me know any thoughts you may have. Cheers, Dave
  17. Hi all, Thanks for the interest and queries RE the Garratt. As some of you have seen we're featuring the model prominently in our marketing currently. We're still awaiting additional pre-orders before the project can progress however we are watching the numbers closely on this. Cheers, Dave
  18. Hi Chris, You've got it spot on. Items will go into your trunk once they're processed and paid for, and these are then solely yours. You can add other items as you wish into your trunk - if they're in stock, they'll go straight in. If they're on pre-order, they'll go into your trunk as and when they arrive with us, but they'll show in your pre-order list until then. Sorry for any confusion but I hope that the above helps :-) Cheers Dave
  19. Hi Simon, Thanks for spotting this! We've already picked this up with the CAD developer - its a case of the seating part being added the wrong way round. This is now amended and both passengers and guard have their appropriate spaces :-) Thanks to everyone else replying to the thread also. I'm glad you like what we've shown so far and there's some great information being shared about potential other duties for the Genesis coaches too. I for one can't wait to see how everyone incorporates them into your layouts. Cheers Dave
  20. Hi all, Just to clarify some of the above posts. We've checked back through the correspondence when preparing the colour layouts for 66623 and can confirm the Pantone code supplied related to the darker shade used on the majority of locos repainted in this colourscheme as opposed to the initial repaints using the lighter shade. The photos on our listings currently aren't the best and I'll make sure these get changed in the next day or so. I apologise for our CX team member who was mistaken on this and I've made sure our team is advised accordingly. Cheers Dave
  21. Hi all, Today, we’re pleased to share the CADs for our Genesis project with you. As with other projects from Hattons, we’re providing you with the opportunity to view the full 3D CAD images, so that you can really get up close and personal with these exciting new models. As well as images, we've uploaded the complete CAD files for each type of vehicle into an online viewer. This will let you rotate the CADs and see them from any angle you wish, and no software downloads are needed! The entirety of Batch 1 is due to start arriving in stock during Q1 2021, with further models set to launch following this. Pre-order yours now! We’d love to hear your thoughts either via RMWeb or in the comments on our site. Check out the full 3D CAD images, HERE. Cheers, Dave

  23. Hi all, The latest release of Class 66s (H4-66-032 to H4-66-037 inclusive) have encountered an unavoidable delay. We’re currently taking action on this and the models will now be released during Late 2020. Once I have more info on the date I’ll share it here but the latest info is always on our website too: Hattons Originals OO Gauge Class 66 Cheers, Dave
  24. Hi all, We've now received the additional detailing pack that wasn't included with the models when first released. This includes the following parts: Reversing lever Ashpan lever Lubricator linkages and wheels Running board supports Valance pipe (H7-A4-002 to 009 only). These are being sent out to everyone who has ordered an A4 so far. They'll also be included with any model ordered from today. Full instructions for these parts have been added to our website, and you can check these out and/or order an A4 via the link below: Hattons Originals O gauge LNER Class A4 Cheers, Dave
  25. Hi all, We’re about to receive the second batch of our Class 66s, H4-66-032 to H4-66037 inclusive. As well as full quality control at the factory, these will be QC tested by staff at our hub prior to processing pre-orders and the models going onto general sale. You can pre-order your loco now at the link below: Hattons Originals OO gauge Class 66 There has been a lot of speculation regarding factories and construction methods for the models and whilst I can’t state which factories we use for commercial reasons, I can advise that the Class 66s are made in a different factory to Heljan’s models. I hope that helps clear a few things up, Cheers, Dave
