  1. Thanks for your replies. Sadly that's the conclusion I have come to. So I need to track down a Class 42 with a 21 pin DCC decoder. I'm looking for green with small yellow panel. Did they ever produce one?
  2. Can anyone advise when Bachmann updated their Class 42 / 43 mechanism? I have the latest model 32-066 which has small plastic cogs and split axles, however I also have a beautiful set of Ultrascale P4 wheels and the won't fit this upgraded model! So I need to track down the previous style mechanism. What year did they change the design? I'm looking for 1960's era Class 43 in Green with small yellow panel with the 4 figure head code panel. Thanks for your help.
  3. BRANCH LINE Highbridge - Evercreech - Highbridge So! Looking at " Working Time Table Local Freight Trains Bristol District 17Th June 1963" pages 57 -59, from the duty rosters Bristol 978, 984, 985 & 986 (two locos), i can see clearly marked by a P in each of the turns, P stands for passenger. When looking back to "Working Time Table Passenger Train s Bristol District 12th Sep to 11th June 1961" all the times of the trains in the 1963 Freight WTT marked P are the same times, including the afternoon 'Perishables' with a slight time difference.. The only variations are for the afternoon milks to and from Bason Bridge. I therefore conclude that the missing passenger trains 6 no. also ran at the same time as shown in the 1961 WTT, but were purely passenger duty roasters and therefore would not appear in the 1963 WTT for freight. I hope the above makes sense.
  4. Whilst the attached is from an earlier post in 2012 it is for freight in1963, when you get to the last pages 57, 58 & 59 it provides the rostering of locomotives from Templecombe & Highbridge shed. From this I'm hoping to work out the passenger turns, having omitted the freight/goods movements. I'll keep you posted. I have a copy of WTT Passenger & Freight 1955 (reprint produced by S&DRT in 1984) I could extract the Branch Line movements if that is of any help? Also "The District Controller's View No. 5 Somerset & Dorset Summer Saturday 1957" has a wealth of information and for the branch also covers SX & SO. There are a few errors but in the main its a good read. http://www.michaelclemensrailways.co.uk/default.aspx?atk=572
  5. Thank you for sharing all this information and actual coach numbers. Just to clarify the movement of coaches UP & Dwn the Branch. Each day, Mon - Sat, two sets of stock were used. Each, Composite & Brake Second, 1948 to 1957. They were all stored overnight at Highbridge Station, the total number of set, I do not know, but I think it might have been as many as 4. Set 1 plus Set 2 (ECS) left Highbridge at about 7:00 am to Evercreech Junction, were they were split. (not many photos of this double set can be found). Set 1 would return to Highbridge at 8:15 am Set 2 would return to Highbridge at 9:55 am They would then both run up and down the line for another two runs each way. Set 1 would return finally at 19:03 Set 2 would return finally at 22:12 Times changed slightly with the alteration of the WTT and varied SX & SO, but remained fairly constant. After 1957 Set 1 would make the first run of the day from Highbridge - Evercreech Junction - Highbridge on its own and would pick up Set 2 (ECS) for the 9:45 run back the Evercreech. Hence the photos that you see on the line, after that time, show a double set of stock with the ubiquitous van sandwiched in between and on the end, allocated to that turn. I've never seen a photo of a double set coming back to Highbridge. However I am yet to come across a photo of two GWR 'B' set running together, or to that matter 'B' set with a van! I trust this is of help. Should there be anymore information or errors in what I've posted I'd be pleased to know.
  6. Again I’m very interested in a LNER BZ 6 wheel non-passenger brake van.
  7. I’m certainly interested in one of these etched chassis for the Stove R please let me know how do I proceed. Thanks
  8. Hi Duncan Please find attached the two instructions sheets for South Eastern Finecast 4F Locomotive & Chassis. Hope you can find what you need from these instructions. Regards Roger SEF 4F Midland instructions F159 Chassis.pdf SEF 4F Midland instructions F159 Locomotive.pdf
  9. Thank you. Yes it looks very similar. I also like your previous photos. It has inspired me to finish the model that I started sometime ago. Regards Roger
  10. Hi Duncan I have some instructions for the South Eastern Finecast 4F [Midland 4F F159 locomotive] & [Midland FT159 tender]. They might not be so uptodate for the current model though. Regards Roger
  11. From what I have so far gleaned from various sources, including '2857'org.uk who converted DW 150301 [photo by MJ Imber], the sister coach to DW 150302 is as attached. However I'm yet to work out what the compartment side look like, but I hoping someone might have some information The colour of the coach was Signal Red. This coach replace an Ex LSWR 56' Lav Brake 3rd. SR Dia 125 in 1965.
  12. From what I can make out it was R4763 Collett BR EX GWR 3RD Class Corridor in BR Maroon.
  13. I believe that 5143 was built as a TK, possible later reclassified as a SK. [DW 150302 BTU] I'm certainly very interested of any books or web sites on Ex GWR Engineers coaches etc which might have any more information. What is of interest, another Collett TK coach 5043 [Lot 1383 Dia C54 built 1928 at Swindon] was converted to a BTU staff coach also 1963 (ADW 150301) preceeding number! This coach according to 'RCTS Scedule of Preserved Coaches, GWR design coaching stock {up dated 19-7-2013} was stored at the Severn Valley Railway.
  14. Thank you for this information. If it was converted for use at Laira in '63 how come soon after in '65 it was at Templecombe? Where was it allocated to after the closure of the S&D in March 1966?
  15. At Templecombe in the Mid 60's there was an engineering coach but I cannot identify it, I do think it could be an Ex GWR Collett! Can anyone help as I would like to make a model of it.
