  1. Hi Everyone - for the sake of anyone else experiencing similar issues now or in the future I wanted to provide some feedback that I may have solved the issue by removing the DCC socket and hardwiring the decoder. I will report back here in the future if the situation changes, but for now things are running as expected! thanks
  2. Hi All, I have a problem that I have been attempting to solve for a little while without much luck - hopefully there is someone here who might be able to point me in a new direction. I have two Bachmann A2 (Peppercorn and Sugar Palm) with the same problem - they move off initially as expected but then fail to respond to any following commands/responding with a significant delay of c. 1 minute or so. I have an NCE power cab which is attached to the DCC concepts Alpha Power/Box combination. No other locos are experiencing similar issues. To date, I have tried the following:- Disabled DC conversion on decoders Cleaned track/wheel Added tons of droppers Added DCC snubbers Changed decoders Does anyone have any bright ideas? Thanks
  3. Morning all - not sure if this is the right place to ask but - can anyone tell me the size of the wire supplied with the Ratio Semaphore kits? I’ve made too many errors during construction and need some more thanks
  4. Do the columns play any structural role? If not, how about using some of those small, but strong magnets recessed into the baseboard/column base to hold them in place?
  5. Evening all - have been playing around with the plan - below is the fruits of my labour. I think I prefer this layout to any of the other suggestions. What do you think?
  6. Thanks to everyone that has contributed so far - I’ll fire up Anyrail this evening and have a play around. To my mind, elongating the single approach line to be able to contain a trains length seems to be the neatest solution with the fewest compromises here.
  7. Thank you - I think that makes sense What I’m struggling to get my head around is the wiring for the station itself. Which way round do I wire the droppers? One way or another a loco entering the station will have to switch - or am I over thinking it completely and it’s a non issue?
  8. Thanks again - here is the whole track plan. The track with the orange background is already built and exists today in a closed loop around the outside of an attic. It's wired in the traditional "black to back" (being the outside) fashion. The track with green background is the proposed extension. I hope this makes sense
  9. Thanks for advice so far - here's a screen shot of my track plan. The outermost lines form a continuous loop of track in a dog bone-type shape. The lines branching off into the middle are to a terminus station within the dog bone shape. I hope this makes sense. The highlighted section of track is where I anticipated placing a reverse loop module.
  10. Hi All, I understand that if I have an oval of track wired to a DCC bus system and want to add a crossover between the two long sides of the oval I must fit a Reverse Loop Module to allow trains pass across without shorting. All the advice I have read suggests that the isolated section controlled by the module must be long enough to accommodate the train passing through it. My question is - what if this is not possible because the track is too short? Is there another possible solution? I model steam and in OO gauge. Thanks
  11. More expensive that from Hornby themselves!?! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155211851627?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=_NiQ-kddT22&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=mByqhJRiTpm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  12. Definitely tender drive - traction tyres still there on the photos
  13. First time contributor to this thread- would this qualify as madness? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265875503087?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=tuZ0LyAlQPS&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=mByqhJRiTpm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
