I was brought up in the UK with a passion for railways (real and model), but never got further than an 8' x 4' round and round as a kid. As an adult, a couple of half-hearted attempts at railways never got anywhere really...

Now based in Brisbane I am finally working on an end to end layout that is designed to be portable, so I can invest in it a little more. 

Broadly 1930s GWR based, but I just love trains, so it's a little flexible. I spent time as a kid on Class 86/87-hauled InterCity trains, so BR blue / grey livery also appeals.

I'm learning a lot as I go, but happy to hear advice and suggestions from others.
