  1. Hi, Would anyone have any tips for creating brake hoses hanging down ward (as in images below). The best looking ones I've seen are Alan Gibson castings however they hard to find and are tide up position. I had thought about maybe using a thin rubber cord to hang down loose from the wagon ends. Any advice would be welcomed, thanks.
  2. Hi, Could anyone suggest what might be the best Chopper Couplings for 009 models. I have the standard Peco couplings on RTR stock however I would like more prototypical NG choppers ones for the kit wagons/carriages. Meriden Models use to do a version I believe. Looking on line I have come across three suggestions; -RT Models chopper hook for the Bachmann fairlie [not sure if it could be used on other locos] -OO9 couplers – NEW ZEALAND FINESCALE (nzfinescale.com) -Custom009 - both NEM and non-NEM versions (https://www.facebook.com/custom009) Has anyone any experience/recomendations with any of these if these? Or anyone got any other suggestions? Thanks
  3. HI, reviing this old tread for some fresh advise. Rover Damask Red seems to be no longer produced by Halfords, would anyone suggest a different shade of maroon at Halford for 1920s/30s LMS. Vauxhall Burgundy Red is still coming up on Halfords, would that still be the closet in absence of Damask red. Thanks
  4. Hi, Just a quick query, if I cut the wire to the tender on the farish black 5 should it still run with only the loco pick ups on the main wheels. I've trialled running the engine on track and lifting the tender of the rails and the engine was still moving. However before I cut anything I said I would just check. I purchased it to use the chassis for a new Hunslet however unlike the older black5 model I used, that was only loco powered, with no pickup/wire from the cab to tender. Thanks in advance
