  1. I quite fancy a couple of the London based ones, I noticed Rapido's website pretty much puts every single PO wagon livery in the pre grouping period, I suppose the only real way to guesstimate how long a company wagon may or may not have lasted is by finding out when the company ceased trading, I expect by the late 30s / 40s any pre grouping PO wagon would be heavily weathered / patched, were they pooled for the war effort the same way as the big 4? And I wonder for example if Kernow's Moger wagon would have retained that LBSCR branding fading away through its life or if it would have got an SR reband, assuming the wagon lasted that long Of course I absolutely can make my own alternate history regardless
  2. I wasn't going to fish pun but when in Rome... This grouper is a little disappointed Peace ✌️😅
  3. Today on Facebook they've cryptically used the song Beyond the Sea in a post about tomorrow's newsletter, it's a stretch, but a "U boat" perhaps 😅
  4. Do we if anyone anywhere has commissioned any Sussex based PO wagons from Rapido? I know many have already been commissioned through Dapol over the years so sales might be limited, in fact I think South & Gasson no. 105 has been commissioned 3 different times through Dapol by 3 different companies, but I'm always on the look out for local Sussex Coast PO wagons
  5. I'm not overly familiar with T3s, they're a little bit too South Western for me and I don't think they made it to wartime black? but I expect it is a case of not 'if' but 'when' one of the manufacturers decides to do one. A likely candidate for Rapido, Accurascale or maybe even Rails via someone. Anyway, got two of the Southern O1s on order, very much looking forward to then =) arguably a little bit too South Eastern for my geographical interest, not sure I've ever seen a photo of one Brighton side of Sussex but I don't care 😅
  6. I got to finally test them on my tatty ancient layout at my parents today, I know I ought to buy some other goods stock that isn't SR branded but funds are limited so my core interest gets prioritised Short video here
  7. Some GN wagons present in this LBSCR era goods train can anyone tell what any of the PO wagons are?
  8. Ideally I'd have liked to have been able to buy a triple pack of 3 different SR variants, but anyway these arrived today! 😁
  9. On the flip side the O1 is being offered in two Bulleid Southern liveries
  10. I suspect and remain hopeful that the D1 will appear eventually from one manufacturer or another as other prototypes are ticked off, looking forward to what other Brighton items are tucked up Rapido's sleeve, I heard rumours of one in the pipe line months and months ago. 🤐
  11. I would very much be in the market for a sunshine version, hopefully in another batch I wonder, would they do it like this Or like this
  12. I only just found out about these from a Model Rail Facebook post, I don't usually venture into the Heljan forum, and diesels are usually too modern for me, but the WD one has caught my interest 🧐 I'm always interested in WW2 stock
  13. It's a shame they don't seem to want to take the H1 & H2 any further after all the time and effort to get the inital releases out
  14. I KNEW someone would have a response like this 😅 I feel like because the early 1940s are so un photographed, all sorts are possible
  15. I ran a double header with my merchant navy for the sheer joy of it 😅 -insert rule 1-
  16. I do really like the magnetic ones that came with the open third, will have to get some more of them
  17. I Tweeted a video of it pulling 10 carriages underneath, just for a bit of fun, problem is when I try and run that many carriages, whatever order I have them in, the extra weight always seems to make the leading bogie derail of whatever carriages is 2nd in the rake. Physics I guess
  18. Pleased to report no issues at all, at least on my outer loop 😁
  19. Delivered today along with the wagons 😁 had to keep wiping it between photos, been out in 0'c in my storage unit all afternoon and the body kept condensating. Can only upload 2 pics anyway as the photos are 4mb each Edit: is there a front and back end or are they identical?
  20. I decided to order a CC1 in Malachite in the end as they seemed to be selling out fast, they went from Derails really fast but TMC had 10 in stock when I ordered, my preferred retailers purely because of free postage, it should arrive tomorrow, hopefully be able to test it at the parents Tuesday after work, be interested to see if I've got a good one or a derailer 🧐 I always think if locos can negotiate my decrepid old layout (most can) they can negotiate anything 😅
  21. It's a real shame, when I got back into the hobby about 8 years ago I bought everything from Hattons as they seemed to be considerably cheaper than everywhere else, but in recent years that's been less and less the case and when other retailers can offer free postage I changed my retailers of choice for entirely selfish financial reasons (I mean, adding £4 postage to every item you order adds up). But I wish everyone the best! I'm sure you all have transferable skills that other businesses will welcome!
  22. I shall be interested to see Muz's usual product roundup from a Southern perspective 😅 Oh well. Locomotion is kinda cool
  23. I hope they hang around for a little while, gotta renew my car insurance this month and I think my pre ordered accurascale banana vans are imminent 😭 someone save me a Malachite CC1 please
