  2. Bonnet de douche, Rodney, bonnet de douche. Cheers Darius
  3. As has been stated above, the seller is not “Silver Fox Models”, rather he is “Gostude”, who has something of a reputation on this thread. Silver Fox Models are an established small trader supplying resin-bodied conversions and full kits for various locos and multiple units. I have a few of their products and they are not badly painted but, in my opinion, could be painted to a finer standard. I have bought and painted some of their resin coach bodies. So now you know the difference between Silver Fox Models and Gostude. Cheers Darius
  4. Reading through the last few pages of threads, it strikes me that there is an almost puritanical desperation in some folks to be disappointed in the efforts of retailers and manufacturers that produce ever more superb models. It reminds me of an episode of Frasier where Daphne asks Niles and Frasier how they liked a concert, to be told the performance was magnificent but with one tiny flaw that they will pick apart for the rest of the evening. “Oh good”, she says, “just the way you like it”. Cheers Darius
  5. Thanks Kieran. The sanding did remove some of the fine detail around the light clusters but that can hopefully be restored by careful painting. Cheers Darius
  6. Trial fit of the chassis to a driving and centre car using a Bachmann Class 170 chassis - better looking bogies than a 158. The fit of the cast metal centre car chassis is very tight and the molded ledges in the coach body were at the wrong level and had to be cut away. This left smaller ledges at each door position that were scraped with a knife blade to increase the gap/depth and give a flush fit to the chassis. The fit is so tight that a split has occurred in the resin body at one end. Some grinding of the metal chassis sides and end will be needed to ease the fit. The chassis side valences were temporarily fixed in place with black tack for the photos. Fitting the driving coach chassis is easier as the Bachmann chassis is plastic rather than metal. I cut away the bogie chassis sections and sanded them to fit flush in the coach body using the molded ledges to locate them. I made a separate centre chassis from plasticard with the molded side valences fixed temporarily with black tack. Cheers Darius
  7. Hi Paul, Go back to the first ever post in the thread and select “edit” from the menu in the top right. This is will let you change the thread title. Cheers Darius
  8. Thanks Robert. I travelled on a CAF unit from Portrush to Londonderry and back about 16 years ago and found them to be quite good. Do they have a reputation that I am not aware of? Cheers Darius
  9. Russell reportedly told he will replace Bottas https://www.planetf1.com/news/george-russell-valtteri-bottas-futures/ Cheers Darius
  10. Cabs cleaned up and re-primed. Cheers Darius
  11. Coach bodies primed. The finish of the printed bodies is very good. Some light sanding and finishing required to the cab ends only. Cheers Darius
  12. Latest project - a NI Railways CAF 3000 unit using 3D printed resin bodies produced by m0rris of RMWeb and obtained via eBay. The plan is to adapt Bachmann old 158 unit underframes to fit these bodies. Painting will be a mix of Halfords and Phoenix enamels airbrushed on with decals by Railtec already obtained. Cheers Darius
  13. Thanks for posting the link - I have read through the posts and taken the plunge and ordered a couple of RH OO turnouts. Looking forward to my first attempts at kit-building pointwork. Cheers Darius
  14. They look like Salmons and Borails - except they would be much longer than the Pacer bodies than these wagons appear to be. Cheers Darius
  15. Just watching “Blue Pullman” on Talking Pictures - wonderful footage of the train travelling the line through Monsal Dale to Ambergate. Cheers Darius
  16. Even in perfect condition the original Heljan Class 86 was not quite perfect. Didn’t that bloke play the Albert Hall once? Cheers Darius
  17. This original production Heljan Class 86 is missing a bit more than the pantograph and roof bus bars I think. Cheers Darius
  18. The Peco bullhead range was popular when first introduced and quite a few have planned and started layouts based on it only to have them stalled for lack of current and newly proposed bullhead track from Peco. This latest news is disappointing, but perhaps not surprising, to a lot of people, myself included. I trust that Peco’s production priorities are more attuned to your needs. Either way don’t thumb your nose to those feeling let down. Darius
  19. Is the production of the existing code 75 bullhead items (flexitrack and large radius turnouts) also being put back or is it just the proposed new(ish) items? Darius
  20. I think he’s already had a try out in the recovery truck... Cheers Darius
  21. Guardian article on Mazepin Cheers Darius
  22. I think they do require some level of driving competence so alas no. Unless of course Daddy Putinbucks donates a wad of cash to boost the council budget each year. Darius
  23. Perhaps the seller will let you have it on tick... Cheers Darius
  24. Are you sure it’s not a wind-up? Darius
