  1. I'm wondering if it is worthwhile investing in an Elite so express net can be utilized and thus the dongle for complete versatility if dongle works seamless with Hornbys system. ,(?)

I see some other options have appeared in the Apps 'engine shed' ie 'function maps'. I'm presuming this is to assist dongle use?

  2. With the latest high spec models being all 20+ functions and very few systems being able to go beyond 20 it has become apparent that someone needs to develop a cheap control system which is app based run by tablet/smartphone for 30 functions.

  3. no sound options left. If Mr Lego is lurking around, can he or others answer; I see that the Lego cav 56 decoder on offer on the website lists functions but only one for fan [?] is this a misprint as surely the fans need 2 functions as separately operated..

  4. The national media loves scare stories and a few weeks back took hold of a couple of stories with their usual frenzy and their exaggeration couldn't be further from the truth. (As has been the case for many yrs on various subjects) wouldn't it be crazy if Hornby announced a 31 retool as well.. with smoke and working windscreen wipers lol.

The hobby is alive and burgeoning!

  5.  A quick check on spec and Yes you are correct.. fans should work with a decoder as controllable and in DC mode when loco moves. That's clever electronics. The cav chaps say a bespoke decoder may be your way forward unless you have a programmer.. A bespoke decoder is in the works. Road and Rails could be your friend.

    Hey all,

This may have been covered but having had a read can’t immediately see the answer!

Is there a way to get the roof fans working on standard DCC mode? Using a LokPilot v5 DCC programming a blank decoder on LokProgrammer but cannot for the life of me get the fans to rotate.
    Thank you in advance! :)

Are the fans workable on non sound versions? I thought they were only fitted to factory fitted sound versions? I may be wrong..

Mine works fine with a Loksound decoder from Road and Rails.

Ok thanks I will speak to him then.

    I don't like that green on 101. Yuk 🤢

Should've kept it retro mustard Arc 😔

  8. I hear that similar bluetooth systems available in the U.S have been available for sometime. Do they have a Dongle add on making them compatible with existing dcc systems also? I also wonder if one of the clever electronic manufacturers could ever make an add on that makes all dcc systems compatible or would it be possible? I'm reluctant to give up my Dynamis (which isn't expressnet) ,despite its shortcomings but having access to all 28 fcts would be nice!
