  1. Please could you consider "un-pinning" the "Hornby 2023" items from the top of the Hornby Page.    They split the threads into two with a large gap between new items.   People know that the 2023 item threads exist, and can find them in future if they want.

    Thanks,

    Phil

  2. Anybody fancy setting up a fake 'consultancy' firm, maybe in the railway operating field? I was thinking maybe paying me a daily fee of around $10,000 per day...I mean, £10,000? If you think that's too cheap, please let me know? RSVP 'Pink' c/o The Funny Farm

  3. Hello RM Web

Some months since I left a post re. Modelmaster - not as public since RM Web closed the main thread. If you have followed this topic you will know I wrote to South Ayrshire Trading Standards to formally complain about my order with Modelmaster. The issue is still not resolved to my satisfaction, ie a refund. However the replies I have received from the TS officer include :- 1 ‘I have had difficulty getting in touch with Modelmaster, 2 ‘I was assured your order had been dispatched, it would appear I was misinformed’ 3 ‘the potential consequences of his failure to trade fairly will be explained to him’ ‘4 ‘it would appear that Mr Grindlay’s assurances are not to be relied on’

I am not a vindictive person, BUT, I will NOT be treated the way I have been been by Jim Grindlay without some form of retaliation.

The case is not closed (unless Modelmaster has gone bust)

Please don’t confuse Modelmaster with another business Modelmasters.

I firmly believe other railway modellers should think twice before dealing with Modelmaster.

  11. Hi Angelus,

This is a while ago you posted this reply but wondered if you could help. I only have limited knowledge on DCC.

(The manual is available as a download on Accurascales website. F11 is for the red/tail lights and F12 for the cab lights.which are directional and F25 for the Engine room lights which is an on/off function.)

Have purchased a Accurascale DCC Chip for my analogue Accurascale Deltic but have the same problem as the previous guy you replied to with only the headcode lights working  either end when 10 is pressed and no tail lights, cab lights, and engine room lights coming on

I have a Bachmann EZ command controller but after trying all the buttons from 1 to 10 with no luck, If I don't have buttons F11,12, 25 on the controller how do I get the lights to work that don't come on.

Best Wishes & have a good New Year

They earn very, very good money for the heritage lines. Far more than the steam and diesel galas which cost a lot and they they don't bring their own butties and flasks.

Pleased to see some contacts have been given closer to home; I wish you well with getting to chat to someone - they're not there to judge - just to help.

  22. Question: Am I doing this correctly?

Recently fitted this Tri-ang Princess chassis with new wheels from Markits. However it appears to be shorting out. One side is plain while the other is insulated just like the original set up. There are PECO fibre washers on all the axles, though I'm wondering if it's the crank pins or the valve gear that's causing the short.

I'm still trying to learn my way around of converting older Triang loco stock to work with Markits wheel sets and with very little clear guidance or videos on the correct procedure on doing this, I have to try and solve this myself.

Would someone inform me if I'm doing this conversion correctly or is there there supposed to be a different approach with this?
