  1. Resurrecting this ancient thread - anyone know which model the bodyshell actually represents? DE/DH? Power etc?
  2. Christchurch myself - very rare visitor to these RMWeb parts though
  3. Well, Acorn is still there as is the one on Colombo and Ironhorse. Brittania are closing but not #eqnz related. Robin Knight still trading as Christchurch Scratchbuilding supplies too. Not so bad here at all considering. Kev.
  4. Dabble a little from the wobbly workbench in Chch. Currently have a DBR on the workbench. Kev.
  5. What? Black and white? Each to his own but I can't get the modeling juices excited over similar shot today where the 8 logos in sight would all be the same class albeit different colors. Gotta remember those 44s on the Toton Three Spires Nat. Happy days.
  6. I'm with Gary. Lots of shapes one color beats one shapes in a lot of colors. BR Blue covers a period when, despite modernization, much of the railway was still traditional. I also grew up with it and as seems to be a theme here enjoyed the variety around Nuneaton.
  7. Enjoying some podcasts from the Keepingitpeel website. The half man half biscuit special is ...special ;-)
  8. CHCH across the ditch on the mainland. Kev
  9. This is a hard one: Teddy Boston's Olton Priors- 60's scenery and lots of proprietary hacks, but it was a real railway, it worked to a timetable and it felt like a real place. Garsdale Road - the layout was probably better it photos than reality but it looked like the real thing, was believable and led to the Long Drag. WS Norris' O gauge layout. - I don't care that he had loads of money and access to tiger whiskers it was simply stunning and years ahead of the rest. (Guess who grew uo with Dad'sRailway Modeller and MRN collection.) loads more inspiring layouts but only allowed 3 and I'm so surprised that none of these have been mentioned yet. Kev
  10. Howm very disappointing - I was expecting th o see grey boxes with a red stripe about a third of the way up. Must be getting old.
  11. I never did get to Croft when you were there but did spend some time at Hinckley. We had a reasonable selection of industrial locations in the area back then. Kev
  12. It might have been similar but isn't that Bardon Hill? Industrial locations tended to be not tooo difficult to bunk/get invited in by the gateman but most enthusiasts just weren't interested. kev
  13. Those hideous joins in the blades like these ones you mean??? http://85a.co.uk/forum/view_topic.php?id=424&forum_id=11
  14. You know you want to put couplings on the 798 - it was the only one I couldn't hook tail traffic to!
  15. He never stopped mentioning the cat being knocked off the platform. Very enjoyableto operate and John did manage to get every train Rich had there in the station. PSI think you should buy that Kof, whip the decoder and sell the remains to me. PPS Go the All Blacks - Ireland might be one to watch next year though.
