  1. Well almost 2 years later and I'm back making another diorama

  2. Happy Christmas everyone. Just an update to talk about some new products of mine. Recently got a Bachmann db schenker class 08. (Now my favourite model) along with that I got some noch n gauge ballast (also a gauge) but I'm going to use it as fine hard-core ground cover. I may even use it as really fine ballast. Don't know yet though. Pictures will follow later.
  3. The way it's going we'll get the 2018 range in 2025.
  4. Where should I go about getting replacement nem pockets for the sentinel.
  5. My Hornby sentinel new couplings. I've been having a look at Smith's chain links but I'm unsure as of how to fit them. The pictures I saw on eBay makes it look like they are flat bottomed but other pictures suggest they have a shaft. Which of these are true. And if the latter is how do I go about fitting it.
  6. Looks great. How did you do that? Was it scratch built?
  7. I don't normally like steam locomotives but I do like that one.
  8. The wheels are not the same as the 0-6-0 sentinel and if anything look a bit bigger.
  9. Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm just going to have a go at making a new layout with proper wood that can support itself. (Not MDF)
  10. Bachmann are announcing their 2018 range on January the 7th.
  11. The board itself is near enough perfect. It's the slats underneath of which one has warped
  12. One of the pieces of wood that makes up the underframe has warped making my layout tilt forward. It's only noticeable from the side but is still noticeable. What should I do .
  13. Well......the Heljan? Class 05 seems to be quite popular......soooo Hornby would do well to produce one.
  14. No-one seems to have mentioned this. Although I could be wrong. I think the sentinel they did was one of if not the best shunter locomotive they did.
  15. I've only just checked it now. I thought the image had loaded. That's a shame. I'll have to try again
  16. It could be sold for min £100 as businesses don't pay normal rates because they buy in bulk so the cost for each part/motor works out cheaper.
  17. I ended up taking the hand rails off. This photo was taken before I removed the excess paint.
  18. Fitting white metal detailing parts to locomotives. Generally these go fine. But when the stem of them snaps they're a nightmare to put on.
  19. Try springside models vacuum brakes and steam heating pipes.
  20. I've owned the model for a couple of years and only just noticed that the valances seem quite flimsy. Still considering the option to cut them off.
  21. How strange I was sure brm did an article on ut and how it was coreless.
