  1. Gilbert, Very thoughtful of you to produce the D11, but it might have looked a bit nicer if the cleaners had done a "brush up" on it first. You really must get a grip of those boys. Mind you, even Faringdon is getting slightly travel stained. !! Thanks anyway, Stuart
  2. Gilbert, I may be wrong, but that looks like 60048 DONCASTER. Stuart
  3. Gilbert, Might I suggest grey or silver instead of black on those lamps. To me, the black seems a bit too "heavy". Stuart
  4. Gilbert, Since when did King's Cross turn out A4s in that condition ? Stuart
  5. Hi Gilbert, Did you not see my pm regarding fixing loco lamps ? Black Tac is the stuff to use. It's like Blu Tac but much stronger, and being black, will not show if a small amount should squeeze out from underneath the lamp. You only need a "pin head" amount and it really does stick. It is used by photographers for fixing items whilst photoing them, and can easily be removed for reuse. Regards, Stuart
  6. Gilbert, Must say, I like the pics of the PUllmans, BUT, from the looks of it, there is a very pronounced camber change just where the first and second cars appear in the "Queen of Scots" photo. Hope nobody was just haing a plate of soup at that moment ! Stuart
  7. Hi Gilbert, Thanks for those views of Victor Wild. A3s as they should look - single chimney, no smoke deflectors, and a lovely GN tender. Beautiful !!!!!! Reminds me of my youth. There were even some blue ones then as well !!!!!!! Keep up the good work !!! Stuart
  8. Hi Gilbert, I guess that having poles coming out of chimneys is now out of fashion, so you've done a great alternative - nameplate hiddden behind a trolley load of parcels. Makes a nice change !! Stuart
  9. Gilbert, Bet you didn't know how much space you have !!!! Now, do you remember where you have put everything ??? Stuart Germany
  10. Gilbert, Neither do I !!! Stuart
  11. Gilbert, From this head on view, it is extremely difficult to find a difference in the positions of the lamps. My personal view is that they are so much nearer to being the correct size, that any other comment is invalid. They look just super !!!! Stuart
  12. Gilbert, Please can you refresh my knowledge. What/which are those new lamps on Hermit ? Certainly a big improvement, or should I say small !!!! Stuart
  13. Good Morning Gilbert, You will be in trouble from the Spotters' Union !!!! Neither that A3 nor the K3 can be identified. in the picture in 10315. You'll have to do better than that. Gresley
  14. Hi Gilbert, I only have plated side vehicles, and they all have dark grey roofs. As far as I know, the wooden bodied ones all have white roofs, so this is a departure for Hornby. I agree, it means the paint job for the roofs if they are to look realistic, certainly for the ECML formations.. I have one of the old, old, old ones with a silver roof. It is lost somewhere in the "underworld" beneath the layout !!! Stuart
  15. Hi Gilbert, Good news about the new Hornby Pullmans, but why do they have to have white roofs ? All my pics of them during the BR period show black/dirty roofs/dark grey kin kdeeping with other coaching stock. Stuart
