  1. Just a quick question, not worth its own thread. Please could someone measure the usable carrying length of the N gauge low-loader lorry trailer. Trying to work out if it will handle an aircraft fuselage. Many thanks.
  2. Hello, Just wondering if anyone has built one of these. I'm thinking about building a little switching layout with the ferry as the focus. Is track already set in the base or can it be added? What is the clearance for rolling stock from the superstructure? Is the kit relatively straight forward to build? Thanks
  3. Had a lovely time at this little show today, but may have dropped some keys there (single key with a Texas keyring attached). Does anyone have contact details, I can't find a web presence. Thanks.
  4. Hi all, I picked up some Pheonix LT red for use on a Peco bus kit. I normally use acrylic with an acrylic gloss varnish before adding transfers, but I have heard that the varnish can clash with enamel paints. What do people recommend to use with Phoenix enamels? Thanks.
  5. Hi all, I'm making a couple of dioramas in 1.76 scale and looking for some unpainted figures with interesting poses - particularly a photographer and/or people with film/TV cameras. I'd prefer unpainted figures just to make things more of a challenge. I like the Preiser figures selection and they have some wonderfully eclectic packs, but their unpainted ranges look to be just packs of generic poses. Are there any interesting packs that anyone can recommend? Thanks.

  9. Hmmm.... not had a chance to start one of these new format challenges yet. How about the word Southern. Interpret as you wish, something that you would connect with Southern, be it relative to a country, the old railway company, name of a station, whatever you have in mind. For me, Southern always means EMUs and memories of going down to watch the classic Mk1 sets in the Orpington area as a child. 12. I was going to book in December for a Stansted to Titograd flight, but with this nonsense, I won't be. Travel insurance won't recoup the costs if a cancelled flight is the fault of the airline, so it will be a messy wait for people to try and recover fees from Ryanair and from when I used to work in travel insurance, they make it as hard as possible - call centres in Ireland on premium numbers with endless waits. I remember, must have been back in about '06, during a baggage handler's strike in Spain, they told passengers they just had to abandon their bags at the airport and wouldn't check in anything above hold baggage size. Because the bags were not checked in, they were not Ryanair's responsbility, so they would not be forwarding them on, they were just gone.
