  1. An update on Readham - another great year at exhibitions, including Best in Show at Basingtoke, more detailing added, the Tram reliability issue well and truly sorted (DCC conversion and a good stay alive fitted) and a track re-laying project planned (to be 'delivered' in January) - the West approach to Platforms 3&4 is having the curve re-laid to make it a smoother approach. Exhibition diary update: 2020 - Cheltenham (April) - Bristol (May) - Fareham (October) - Warley NEC (November) 2021 - Stafford (February) - TrainWest (April) - Wigan (October) 2022 - Weymouth (October) As I'm also an 'operater/driver' on a mates layout in 2020, Readham will only be making 4 appearances in 2020. However, I would be pleased to hear from any exhibition managers interested in booking Readham for 2021 and beyond.
  2. ‘Readham’ is racked up ready for the journey to Basingstoke this weekend. The Tram, that has been ‘troublesome’ to date has tonight received a high capacity Zen Stay Alive so fingers crossed it’ll perform reliably at the weekend. Team Readham are looking forward to the weekend, if you’re going to the exhibition please say hello as it’s always good to meet fellow RMWeb’ers
  3. You’re right, there will be some rivet counters who’ll moan about that (but they could renumber theirs)
  4. Hornby are aware of the demand for a 9 car IET. My money is on it being provided in the same way as the Pendolino’s were, additional carriage packs to make a 5 car a 9 car (for the cost reasons quoted earlier in this topic).
  5. Some pre-exhibition ‘fettling’ and making sure everything is working as it should on ‘Readham’ in advance of it’s journey to Manchester this weekend. ‘Team Readham’ are looking forward to this weekend (and the team this weekend are 3 generations of the men in my family - my Dad, Son, Nephew and me), if you’re going to the exhibition feel free to stop and ask us about anything on Readham, including the new feature in the Premier Inn
  6. The derailments on Readham were due to some occasional ‘early setting’ of the next route by keen ‘following operators’, not track issues. Apologies for this, it was the first time we’ve had routes in action, we’ll do better next time
  7. Thanks for your comments. There will be more pics in time and maybe a Facebook channel. Are you sure you want to make a Reading style canopy in N, it was fiddly enough to do in OO - believe me when I say there was a fair bit of ‘Anglo Saxon’ English used at times while making it
  8. ‘Readham’ has had a few more enhancements (a layout is never finished) ready for GETS, had its pre-exhibition testing this week (a good excuse to drive some trains) and it’s now all racked up in the garage ready for Friday. An expensive mistake (I shorted one of my Loksound chips and well and truly ‘cooked’ it) means that only one of my IETs will have sound for the exhibition (but both will have sound for its next exhibition). Team Readham are really looking forward to GETS, please introduce yourselves to us, we’re a friendly bunch and more than happy to talk Trains
  9. Readham’s booking for the Bristol exhibition in May 2019 has been moved to 2020 therefore if any exhibition managers are looking for a modern image DCC sound layout for May 2019 then we’d be pleased to hear from you.
  10. Thanks, I found a video on YouTube last night after putting this question here and that implied starting Web Services so that’s what I did this morning, including setting it up for automatic start on opening JMRI - and it works. I have had to compress my loco photos as JMRI on my iPhone ran like a dog with the photos straight from my Nikon. Setting up Routes now
  11. I’ve set up locos on JMRI Roster including loco photos, when using WiThrottle everything works OK, all locos appear in the Roster, all the Labels are correct but no photo is displayed by the loco name in the Roster. Please can someone give me some advice on how I can get the photo to display, thanks.
  12. Totally agree, the 31 was on retailers shelves for ages, can’t say this is a popular livery and am surprised Hornby chose this loco/livery over something more popular that they’ve been asked for (like the 60 in DB Red). This 56 could end up on the shelves just like the Drax biomass 60). Strange choice Hornby at a time when you need production runs to sell out!
  13. You’re right about the dust, all stock and stock boxes are thick with dust - that’s going to be some job cleaning all of that!. You know James would do a good weathering job, go on let him do it
