  1. American or a proper one? ;)
  2. I guess that would be your loss then? When the first request came in, I asked if it was ok to wait until payday to pay the balance and received a prompt and courteous response. They're a preservation group, not a multi-national sales empire.
  3. I don't think the intention to continue production of SE Finecast kits has been in doubt?
  4. I only clean the material if it's really manky. Otherwise I just let the water based flux do its job. Most of the kits I have are well over 20 years old.
  5. https://laisdcc.com/spare-parts/ :) It diverts to ali express for sales - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003711888352.html If you only need one or two then a UK supplier is better but for bulk I go direct.
  6. Whilst I agree with the above, I've only heard good things about Edge kits for buildability so a good introduction to locomotives when you are ready.
  7. I got mine direct from Lais (I don't mind buying their adapters).
  8. Going by the labelling it certainly looks like it's going to have the Ikea treatment.
  9. Put it away mate, seen bigger ones on a gnat.
  10. Still gutted I missed "raiding" the Science Museum by one week due to Uni to get it all out.
  11. Oh and don't skimp on the quality of the tool - I've found these to be very hard wearing https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252413619970?var=551262128393
  12. I used GWR fasteners most recently - although with that name I was expecting style over function but no, they were actually good quality 😜 I think both Markits and High Level use M1.6 (no idea what DJH used as I've never had one). https://www.gwr-fasteners.co.uk/m16-socket-cup-point-grub-screws-3557-c.asp For more obscure sizes (e.g. I needed some 0-80 UNF x 3/16 inch Socket Countersunk Screws in black then if anyone will be able to supply it's Accu - but you do pay a premium of course https://www.accu.co.uk/cup-point-set-screws/4985-SSU-M1-6-3-A2?uk_google_shopping=1&c=3&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyYjliJv7hAMV9ohQBh122AE2EAQYASABEgLAU_D_BwE
  13. I try and have spare grub screws that use an Allen key rather than a flat blade screwdriver for fitting. Much more user friendly.
  14. Are there any that haven't been done yet? Numbers could be different but struggling to think of any liveries not catered for yet. Except Toby of course which would need licencing.
  15. The parts to build a Comet coach are £60+ and you need wheels, couplings, paint and transfers. Possibly the interior as well, not sure about that.
  16. Oddly enough I bought the DVD and soundtrack to Going Home a couple of weeks ago and then suddenly the theme is in the news (for an excellent reason). I've never actually seen the film - something for this weekend hopefully.
  17. I have a D&S Kit so the more it is the better for me ;)
  18. Some very worthy winners, and special congrats to the Ladies at Great Eastern Models for making the shortlist again. Legends.
  19. Ha ha yes that's something I do quite a bit - move my fingers before the heat hits the skin. What I forgot the other day is you can't do that with an RSU though. Still got the blister 😂
