  1. I'm kind of with you on that - I think I'm the reason that the Invertrains site now says all items are 7mm! From what I remember, a web search took me directly to some buffers, and as they are VERY reasonably priced for 7mm I didn't realise....
  2. Only because of the delusions of grandeur with the cast numberplates!
  3. As I understand it, if you want to share info with a third party, that party has to be named at the time of the agreement being made. So murky waters maybe . Will anyone get upset that their info gets passed to Rails without their permission? I'd hope not, but some people may have beef with Rails I suppose.
  4. Interesting I must have got their original name from my Dad as I wasn't born until 1977!
  5. True, but that's where I use side cutters. When doing loads of the same size the adjustables were a handy "cheat".
  6. I used to have some of these a long time ago, very effective especially if you didn't need to change diameters often. Alas lost many years ago :( Showing your age now, calling them Radiospares!
  7. https://architizer.com/blog/practice/details/technical-details-brick-bonds-and-patterns/ I think so.
  8. Yorkshire bond? Making them bricks go further ;)
  9. Whoops sorry yes - I forgot there was that device after the LI101 and before the one with ethernet.
  10. The GER had their own coffee pots https://www.gersociety.org.uk/files-emporium-home/lg002-ger-0-4-0-coffee-pots
  11. Definitely a skill worth learning. I do find very fine wires don't always work first time these days - must be getting old. Watching this thread as I may have to succumb and buy something.
  12. Progress, huh 😒 Mine is connected to my router rather than my laptop. However, if USB is the right way for you, then as @WIMorrison says, use the FTDI driver.
  13. I did this the other day, but just use the Ethernet port instead of the USB port.
  14. *IF* the tooling hasn't gone to Rails, I wouldn't expect it to be Accurascale that takes it on - neverwassas is not their thing. I wouldn't be surprised if Rapido took them on. Conspiracy theory time - Rapido doing mystery boxes - to build up cash for a tooling suite? You heard it here first lol.
  15. Laurie Griffin as well -https://www.lgminiatures.co.uk/
  16. Rapido Trains UK as a separate entity rather than a branch of the NA parent?
  17. Boing! said Zebadee.
  18. Last I heard was the worst of the lot is now the MD... And they are still selling half baked machines. Must be nice to have punters that desperate!
  19. When I worked in the drawing office for my old company, the number of times a salesman would flounce in all excitedly and announce he had sold a machine that would do xyz. Only to have anything we had to hand thrown at him for selling something that wasn't even remotely possible, let alone part of the R&D phase. We were all for pushing the boundaries but they just took the p*** far too often.
  20. Absolutely true - all you see is UK postage paid, and it goes to a hub for whoever has the contract with ebay. You don't even see the purchaser's address, just the hub.
  21. I may have misunderstood it, but from what I can tell, the DCC standard only specifies front and rear lighting connectivity - everything else is classed as an auxillary function so is open to customisation. So assuming (I've not checked as I am happy with my AS locos with their OEM decoders) these are in the relevant pins then they are up to standard. I can't see how the standard could change as there are so many combinations of lighting on prototype locos there would have to be a considerable number of "standards" that you couldn't call them that.
