  1. It is with great sadness I let you all know that my grandfather, the Reverend Kenneth Newbon, passed away in November aged 86. He had been battling some health issues for over a year and after a brief illness of pneumonia he passed into 'God's Great Kingdom'. He was well known for his railway, 'West Midland' the title granted to him by the late Edward Beal who grandpa became friends with through the railway modeller. His layout was gifted to the late Victor Harman of Sleaford who kept it running until his untimely death from Parkinsons. Now the mantle has passed to me to carry on the family tradition of model railways. Ben, 'The Antipodean Grandson'
  2. Hello all, I thought i would make this my first post instead of my original intention which was to post my grandfather's obituary. I am currently residing in Australia where I am in the process of making a new layout that will allow me to run both oo9 and oo stock. I built a oo9 layout a few years back and was happy with the result but wanted to completely over haul the way i had it wired and in the end, starting from scratch using the information I had learned along the way, was by far the easiest course of action. My plan is to recreate the Hereford-Hay station of Eardisley with a twist. Instead of the branchline that went to Titley Junction, I would have a narrow gauge railway instead. Now I am in the process of design, research and planning. I look forward to keeping you all in the loop Ben
