Bluing? If I were going to do that, I would use a chemical process with one of the various gun-bluing products; Hoppe's for example.

Unless you are running some kind or underground coal mining equipment, I think that station needs to be jacked up a bit!

Might I suggest setting it up at the end of your driveway?
I had thought about that. Wiring it up to display a particular aspect would be the problem.

I once painted some O scale track brown:
As you can see, I was not too careful!
BTW, that is a ten-inch radius curve across a double-track through route. Although at this time the route has been cut back to the loop pending further thought on the new layout.
Ten-inch radius in O standard gauge?? Trolley/interurban line. I have a two car train of fifty-foot interurbans that will go around that loop coupled.
Edit: I think that I used aquarium gravel for the ballast.

...snip... On an unrelated note, are those what we call in the USA "dwarf signals" to the left of No 16's tender in your post?
Douglas
On the Pennsy, they were referred to as "pot" signals. If it survived my move, I have one somewhere.

Considering the size of ATLAS, "stuff" might be an understatement!

Thanks FLW, although I was surprised when I looked at the photos and saw how poor the paintjob looked on the rear edge/underside of the cab roof. Amazing what close-up photos will reveal.
No, not a poor paint job, just many, many years of the engine crews' hanging on for dear life!

Amount of heat required? Try assembling a Kemtron ALCo RS-3.

A few years ago when I was still living in Florida, I was going into the grocery store and heard the unusual sound of four radial engines thundering and looked up and saw a B-17 going over. I saluted it and stood and watched it until it disappeared from sight.

I stumbled across this and thought "Open it and see what it is about.". I am glad that I did. Very nice pictures and layout. One question: is the catenary hot?

Have you or can you check the brushes on #3? I am not familiar with the Rivarrosi motor so I do not know if they are accessible.

I am not familiar with the process that you describe. Anyway, when I was in the Navy, I was somewhat of a" gun nut", handguns mainly, the Colt .45 ACP especially although I never did own one. The closest was a Walther P38. A shipmate had a Luger; the P38 was much sweeter to fire. So my experience is with the chemical bluing.
