  1. Yeah but its the best, most expensive and exclusive Lemon ever!
  2. Some seem to have too many plates spinning for my liking! Who is to say that the money is being used purely for one crowdfunded project and not being shared around to support other projects if funds are tight? People can do what they like with their money and its their choice and risk to put towards crowdfunding projects but giving money to projects that have no T&Cs in place is asking for trouble. The APT-P is an example where the T&Cs only got put on DJmodels and DToS sites yesterday, well after the first deposits had been paid. DJmodels also say that "Any 'pure' crowdfunding venture is an investment with no guarantee of return, and your invested capital (deposit payments) are at risk. Please consider carefully whether you wish to partake in this venture before ordering." which hasn't been made very clear in the past and I don't remember reading anything like this in the Class 71, 92, King or HUO threads? Surely this kind of information should be made very clear when the original announcement is made? ( Sorry to pick on DJModels here but its relevant) The other crowdfunding project where the guy was hiding behind a false name would put me off giving any money over straight away! I guess overall if projects fail and people lose money they only have themselves to blame but will that in turn impact other crowdfunded projects that are maybe going about things in a better way?
  3. Not sure that excuse will do Dave much good if projects start failing and leaving people out of pocket left, right and centre.
  4. That was the point I was trying to make a few posts back but got told "If you don’t receive items you have paid for, you basically lose the monies paid" which still sounds a bit odd if there is a contract in place! Add to this the lack of accountability that seems to be going on with the APT-P makes me feel uneasy about committing to these crowdfunded ventures in the future..
  5. I'm a bit confused. So if it was successfully crowdfunded to the tooling stage that means the money was available to progress with it or am I missing something?
  6. Can I ask, Is it normal to lose money on CAD/CAM drawings that you don't receive? Surely you should be asking for that money back if you never got them? Its a shame as I was waiting to see how this one developed before ordering.. Cheers
  7. Cheers Dave, Sure is strange! I'm struggling to find any reason why one modeller would hack another modellers email just to push some numbers up. If it was to do something fraudulent then I'm sure there are more efficient whys to do it.
  8. I'd like to know whether these people were hacked or was it just someone else putting their email address into a system to just bump the numbers? Throwing around words like "hacked" and "fraud" sounds more like sensationalism of some people dropping out. I'd hope that if these people had been hacked that the proper authorities would have been contacted before posting it on a forum?
  9. Thank for your reply, I’ll remember to be more specific in the future. When I said “here” I meant this forum not this thread. As to you receiving a email from me I’m not sure why you would think that, I merely said I was less interested in the class 17 (after receiving the email from you about paying up front) With your replying in the APT thread I think you’ve missed my point but I’ll let that go and let the thread get back to your HUO.
  10. Regardless of what Dave is going through he still managed to make a reply in the APT thread but ignored questions in his other product threads. This seemed to be the trend even before post 186 where only certain questions got answered. I'm still waiting to see mention of the money upfront N gauge Class 17 on here something I was really interested in but less so now.
  11. You appear to be the only one! Although under the dirt in this picture who knows.... http://www.steve-banks.org/images/historical/parcels/parcels_passenger_train/pcls_pass_1957_6_15_31506_1667_1000_72u.jpg
  12. SR Malachite green yes but I believe that the only Birdcage coaches that might of got BR green were the ones converted to Pull-Push sets. None of trio sets picked up BR green as far as i'm aware, I've never seen a picture or seen it made reference to in any books.
  13. I think PMP's point wasn't about who had used a 3D scan and made mistakes but the use of the phrase " with both the simple and rather amateurish mistakes which could, and should, have been corrected in any review of CADs". It seems its all turned in to.. "this one might be wrong but so is this, this and this one". Using other manufacturers mistakes still doesn't make the Kernow one right!
  14. I agree its unfortunate but I'm not sure anyone is blowing anything out of proportion.. If people aren't allowed to make comments on new models then what really is the point. It might as well be any shape with any amount of wheels and any colour? Ok maybe a little over the top but who would know? I also agree it doesn't do anyone any good in the long term. If models are passed as ok and as a accurate model but are incorrect then who benefits? Not the modeller. Ok sometimes there needs to be some compromise but I think the splashers could of been dealt with better and i'm not really sure on the excuse for the steps in the wrong place. As I said before though. I'll wait and see how it runs before deciding if I want to buy one.
  15. I'm not sure why it would be down to all of us? I'm not being paid to do the design work on it and as I said before, those that give their time and information freely seem to get shouted down so why would people speak up when they're going to get abuse?
  16. There could be another reason.. Those that have normally given advice may be fed up of being called rivet counters etc and chosen not to speak up. The end result is this model with so much detail that there are some in the wrong place and some extras included! I think I'll wait to see how it performs before I decide whether to buy one or not.
  17. I wasn't aware Mr Roxey did the short Birdcage stock?? I'll agree that his 60ft Birdcage kits do build into nice models though having built a few myself.
  18. The 60ft coaches were all confined to 3 car sets. They were all built as type C 3 coach sets or Trio sets. Only the ones converted to or put into Pull Push sets were different. The Shorter 50ft and 54ft coaches made it into slightly bigger sets.
  19. Its looking north from Argos Hill tunnel toward Rotherfield on the Cuckoo line. Similar picture here The last 2 coaches look like a ex-LBSCR pull push set.
