  1. I e just received the standard parcel force “bill” for some items I have purchased from Germany I’ve been charged £7.00 duty ontop of the VAT and their extortion charge to tap a few figures into a computer , I take the £7 duty is the difference between allowance and the cost of the model?
  2. Always thought this would have made a brilliant design for a modern UK tram ,
  3. So debuts on YouTube at 19.00 Uk time , would anyone like to speculate as to what this maybe? I’m putting my money on the old reworked MTH SD70ace anyone else with speculation?
  4. The said site is modeltraincloseouts.com if you put this into YouTube you will get the content I mentioned in my OP thanks
  5. I’ve been looking for a genesis BNSF H3 GP for a couple of months , 38 or 25 , I’ve seen a few on the famous auction site but they all tend to be high in price, I did a google yesterday and a “discounted” hobby retailer (online only) selling the GP38 for all of $129 , now this “did” seem a bargain so gave it some thought, my basic instinct said do some research but my desire said buy it now,,, but I decided to do some research before I purchased and was pleased I did so, as it seems this vendor has developed his own kind of fan club on some US forums and even a YouTube video about how he doesn’t post his trains , (takes your money and that’s it) ,,if he ever had them in the first place? that is, so my bargain was not to be and will keep on looking , just be careful when your offered gold for the price tag of bronze!
  6. Saw this on YouTube then did a google on it as I’ve not seen such a short train I did think it was a fakery loco top and tail On 2 superliners https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.fox4news.com/news/4-hurt-after-amtrak-train-from-fort-worth-crashes-into-semi-in-oklahoma.amp
  7. There used to be a good retailer called Jeco not sure if still about do a google search
  8. 18.35 UK time the BNSF business train just passed through Fort Madison guess Galesburg will be next spot GE8281 is head end
  9. Thanks MDVLE very interesting, I’m a snob when purchasing correctly detailed locomotives I’ve mostly genesis , scaletrains rivet counter, Fox Valley , Atlas and Bowser now back in the hobby in my mid life I’m more choosey , I had relatives in Boston and used to visit 1 to 2 times a year when a kid (80s) buy my blue box and order twice the price on detail parts, the roundhouse seems to be the blue box of today. I don’t model NS but like the scheme the hedgehog locos are in, my only other NS loco in a rosta of 30 is the GoRail SD60E in genesis only because again like the GoRail scheme and caboose stop had mint model for $115 , as long as accurate I’d probably take a yellow, blue and red front! , I don’t have any genesis GE all scaletrains but if Athearn come up with the goods that may be my first,
  10. Pity they didn’t come with some samples to the warley show I’d take a wild guess that after uk outline North American comes 2nd in popularity in the uk ,
  11. Hi all just a question, I know there is the Athearn roundhouse model of the NS hedgehog loco but does anyone know of any plans by scaletrains or for Athearn to include into the genesis line up of the AC44C6 in any variant? , scaletrains tend to do a lot of NS so hopefully this will be in the range soon, might drop them a mail
  12. Thanks I agree a super loco, I did have a couple Of years ago the same loco in the RTR model, just need 3 more rapido Horizons to go with my dinette I have send them an email and they say there “might” be another run of Amtrak in the near future, I wouldn’t have bought my dinette if I had known about the release of the Kato super liners again,,,,just something about the Walthers and Bachman Amfleets that doesn’t grab me,
  13. Many thanks the screw is still there at the base of the plastic case so should be all good
  14. I’ve had a bit of a bounty parcel today various intermountain and Exactrail freight cars and my previously posted genesis P42. Perhaps I’m a detail snob when it comes to freight cars avoiding scale trains operator and Atlas trainman mostly going for exactrail, proto2000 , genesis etc however I saw a recent review on Athearn ready to roll gunderson 60ft box cars and was impressed with the underbody detail and separate grabs at the ends and some photo etch parts too so purchased one in TTX TBOX (ATH75250) and a red CP rail (ATH75262). For $40 I’m impressed about on par detail wise with my early genesis 50ft cars with underbody details, so much ive ordered a triple pack for the TBOX , only one criticism and this isn’t just for there cars, my TBOX has the interior weight moving around inside , this is my 5th model like this the other being from Tangent and Exactrail I’m not going to risk taking the body off the chassis and risking loosing some of the details in the process may dremel a small hole and squeeze a little CA inside hoping it will hold the weight down but then there is the risk of it glueing the weight on the side of the car and not the floor, anyone else had or rectified this problem? I’ve added a couple of pictures of the details
  15. Arrived today from the USA , my Athearn Genesis P42 (ATHG81102) in 40th anniversary PhIV livery , my personal favourite as will go nicely with my PhVI horizons when I get my complete set. looks far better than the RTR model and weighs much more, a lot of fine details on the bogies and cab roof antennas, front coupler is loose in the box I’m not sure if they all come like this for optional attachment? Very pleased just need to get some sound and more important a layout for it to run on!
