  1. seems like only yesterday, it was around that time that I first went to Graubunden specifically for the RhB.....how things have changed since then
  2. Hello, I am after some detailing parts for Bachmann Seacow/Sealion wagons, I approached Bachmann who were not able to help as they don’t have them as a spare and I am lost when looking at some of the suppliers who do detailing kits. Can anyone offer any advice as to where is best to go? In particular, I am after the ladders/steps that attach on the sole bar many thanks!
  3. I think I have tracked down my issue to a couple of damaged insulating fishplate after undoing several soldered wires I’ll redo the wiring tomorrow and see if it’s resolved or not. thanks for the help gents..... much appreciated Martin
  4. Thanks for the replies. i have 5 of the motors in a row next to each other. 3 are ok and 2 give problems, whilst all being orientated in the same direction and wired the same. The accessory bus and track bus are separate. I noticed the issue when verifying the polarity of the track feeds and initially went looking for shorts elsewhere. I will have another look in the next day or so.
  5. Sorry for resurrecting an old thread. Did you ever manage to sort this? I’ve been fitting Cobalt IP Digital point motors and have also had issues with shorts, I’m using Peco HOm trackwork and so the space for the modification is limited. I’ve also been wiring them as you would for DC so that I can keep the accessories on a separate Bus and noticed that even with just having the common connected only, I get a short on with some points/motors, though not all. If I disconnect the feed to the frog, the issue goes away....bizarre. I will I’ll try wiring the motors up on the track bus and see if I still get the same issue with the frog them
  6. Try Tom at https://www.swissmodelrail.ch/shop/index.php?page=index& he does some really nice bits and pieces and I’ve bought a lots of things from him over the year for the layout I am very slowly building
  7. For the time being SEPA (Single European Payment Area) transfers should be free, but having acccounts in NL, BE and UK, I can tell you that despite paying monthly fees for my BE and NL accounts, the UK is a rip-off for transfers. You could try some of the bigger German dealers (I have used Huenerbein in Aachen, which makes for a nice day out as well ), but you will have their mark-up that may quickly get to the UK bank charges
  8. they take time and sometimes, the spares just arrive with an invoice long after the order.
  9. Just picked up the recently released one....3 in the collection now. Just need to motor on with getting track laid
  10. The light functions may not be the easiest to wire up conventially, would a new board be best?
  11. I managed to find time this evening.....the speaker looks like a 25 or 28mm that sits under the loco. You could run the brown wires directly to the speaker, or alternatively, you could solder wires directly on to the board, solder pads are near the black motor and run the wires to the speaker from there
  12. I can take a look and get back to you.......it will take me a while to get round to doing so. I pretty certain that you will need a different speaker though
  13. looking at the signaling from my visit a couple of weeks ago, it seems a lot of work to simplify the signaling has happened over the last year or so.
  14. I always thought it was in case the wires came down....but either way, certainly for safety
  15. to answer my own question and to help others who may consider the same action, the holes etc on the newer bodies are different from the older ones and so some work is needed
