  3. Hi,

We'd really appreciate you sending a list of traders you'd like to see at our 2021 exhibition.

We're already planning for that show (and even thinking about 2022!), so your input regarding trade support for future shows would be greatly valued.

    Thank you.

No I don't think so. The MK club decides the quality of its exhibition and I'm not a member, nor do I wish to be so. It's just to far away.

I do admire the quality of the modelling the MK club and I assume the quality of the exhibition meets with the approval of the club's members, but isn't for me make suggestions.

Having said that, I have been attending the club's show for many years but there seems to have been a marked deterioration since the move to Stantonbury, but it is also true that there has been a massive increase in attendance. I have come to the conclusion that the clubs target audience has changed.

      Regards

  13. PRESS RELEASE Model train show is just the ticket! ************************************* Over 2,750 people flocked to the annual Milton Keynes Model Railway Society (MKMRS) exhibition on Saturday 10 February at Stantonbury Leisure Centre. Organisers were especially pleased to welcome a large number of families with children to the show as well as railway modellers from across the UK. A vintage Routemaster bus from London, running between Milton Keynes Central rail station and the exhibition proved to be especially popular, with some services being completely full up. MKMRS were delighted with the huge attendance, but do apologise to visitors who found the show to be very crowded at times and who experienced a long wait for the café. Plans are already underway for next year’s show and the club is considering what can be done to improve these aspects. Please tell MKMRS your views about the show by completing the website form at www.mkmrs.org.uk/feedback MKMRS Exhibition Manager, Terry Silver said: ‘We were delighted to see so much interest from families and children this year making this a really special exhibition that Milton Keynes can be proud of. It was wonderful that so many people chose to join us on Saturday, but we do apologise to those who were uncomfortable at times. We would love to hear visitors’ feedback on the show as it really helps us to plan for next year’s 50th anniversary show.’ The society look forward to seeing everyone again at next year’s show which will celebrate the club’s 50th anniversary. Winners of Best in Show were: Best Visiting Layout - Arigna Town By David Holman - Features a proposed, but not built, branch of the Sligo, Leitrim & Northern Counties Railway, which straddled the Irish border. Featuring a loop & two sidings, it is built to the correct 36.75mm gauge to represent the Irish 5’3″. Pretty much everything is scratchbuilt, with code 100fb track. Best Club Layout - Brinklow By Wayne Webb - A new layout at MKMRS this is based on Brinklow station, part of the Trent Valley line which ran between Rugby and Stafford. Brinklow was the first station beyond Rugby and was previously known as Stretton which changed to Brinklow in 1870 and closed in 1957 – the goods shed stayed in use until 1961. The line was only three tracks wide because of the proximity of the canal. We run stock from the BR period 1955 to 1964. David Holman accepts the Winner's Plaque for Arigna Town, Best Visiting Layout, from MKMRS Chairman, Chris Hughes Wayne Webb accepting the Winner's Plaque for Best Club Layout from MKMRS Chairman, Chris Hughes

If you have time, please fill out our feedback form at www.mkmrs.org.uk/feedback We had a great day and were very busy. 15. You may have seen it in BRM with ANdy York's excellent pictures but, if not, this is Brinklow - the new N gauge layout from Milton Keynes MRS. 16. Coming to our exhibition this Saturday...why not join us for breakfast?! Although the exhibition opens at 10am, our exhibition cafe starts serving from 8.30am so you can buy your ticket (or show your advanced ticket if you have one), come in out of the cold (it is February...) and enjoy a bite to eat and a coffee while we finalise setting up the show. Then, when the show opens, you'll already have your ticket and can start looking around without joining the queue. Trains and bacon rolls - what a combination!
