If people keep positing the 'wrong thing' in the Status Update area then maybe there is something a little wrong with the set up between using the PM facility (confidential) and Status (open to public)? Once or twice maybe accidents. Several times a month is showing some sort of confusion as to the way to do things 'privately' ? I ma not clever enough to understand Tech stuff but I can see a glitch.

Fair enough, you might find it obvious but different people respond to UI in different ways and if only a small proportion are doing what I'm guessing (seeing a box labelled message and typing into it without delving any deeper) then that would account for all the annoying private public messages we see. UI needs to be really simple and obvious for it to work for a diverse userbase!

I think it's a user interface glitch. When you go to someone's profile there's an edit box in the middle of the screen to send them a message, whereas the (private) Message button is much less obvious on top of their profile background picture. So it's just too easy to click, type and hit return in the public message box.

Hi Jeff,
I have your Trax 2 book + CD and used it a few years ago to design my 5" garden railway. I now want o make some additions but find that the s/w on my disk doesn't work on my x64 based PCs running Windows 10. Can you suggest a solution please?
