  1. I quite like the idea of a “tea sock”: keeps the spout warm, presumably?

Far too Cosy here, put a lid on it. Don't want to Strain yourself, or stir up trouble.

I find a little sweetener really helps, but I won't spoon feed you with to many ideas or lump them together.

No mugs on this post either.

  2. I found an old textbook on Bayesian statistics in the loft. Based on my background in psychology and statistics, I expect I will probably read it…

  3. Possibly the last time I shall travel on an HST today. It was strange. No underfloor engine meant it was eerily quiet.

also noticed a brace of 91s stored at Leicester depot. I remember them being introduced - a lot more recently that the class 56s stabled around them!

  4. So bored I nearly did some work!

I’ve had moments like that. Then I sit down with the work I have to do, and the feeling passes.

I have been ask to provide exactly the same information for the purposes of VAT on import as is on the packaging.

As it happens, this seems to have been “outsourced” to UPS.

Brilliant! that really sums them up in the most pithy way. My best effort has just been to rename them Parcelfarce!  :P  I totally agree that in a field of high competition they are the most awful of all parcel companies, although local variations do cause different experiences for different people. Yodel are also banned in my house, but the local Hermes crew are top notch.

I've not had many problems with Parcelforce (touch wood), unlike Hermes or Yodel. I feel quite faint when I find that something being sent has been consigned via Herdel....

  6. After 9.1/2 months, and several hundred applications plus the failure of my marriage, I start a new job tomorrow. Which came about almost by chance, and had nothing to do with a single application I made.

  7. A couple of days of very sporadic use, and I find myself at home with the new interface, and like the cleaner look it presents.

No idea what the fuss has been about in some quarters: most of the changes are purely cosmetic.

May customers be reminded that mouthing off at our station staff over any operating issue will no help the situation. These members of staff are often less well informed than you are due to our rubbish communication channels and the fact that there is little integration.

‘’A shame to see a spat brought onto the status section”.

But you then tell people where to look?

I am being misquoted and misrepresented, and whilst it may not bother you that I am the target, does the behaviour not bother you?
