I'm a 'younger modeller' (22), but I buy and run what I like, so I have everything from a Mehano TGV to a Javelin, Eurostar and (full-length) HST to three A4s, Tornado, Clan Line, Exeter and a load more. Does anyone know when the Bachmann 47 in WCRC livery is due? Will it have NEM couplings? And with the box coming out, does that mean Mk1s in WCRC livery could be coming out too?

I was told at Warley there would be an email going out about this last week, which hasn't arrived, so may as well post it - there has been a delay, meaning both Evening Stars are due at Easter.

Ran my Warley 14xx today. I've not got a DCC layout and the layout is quite long, spanning two rooms, going across the stairwell via a suspension bridge. It's at the limit of a controller without needing booster cables. Near enough to halfway around, there is a small incline and my 14xx could just about manage two Hornby Mk1 Parcel coaches going forwards. Going backwards, it pulls them around the layout without fuss. For the last half-hour or so, I've been running it around with a couple of wagons and one parcel coach, which seems to be fine. As I live quite close to the old Tiverton branch, the wagons are both for Exeter registered companies. What would the best coach be though? A Collet? An autocoach? A regular Mk1? Choch/cream I'm guessing.

I spoke to Rapido at Warley. The chap there said there has been a lot of interest this year, but it has been put on hold for the time being. He told me the plan was to make Mk3 coaches as well, but when Oxford produced theirs there was no way Rapido could compete on a cost level. More of a 'watch this space' thing than a 'no, sod off, we're not building' vibe from him, though.

Has anyone run their Warley 14xx yet? Any videos?

I managed to pick one up on Sunday from Gaugemaster, so they were on sale on both days. Mine wasn't the last one in stock, either.

I've been on several steam-hauled charters this year which have been delayed by late-running service trains and signalling issues; it isn't always steam that causes delays. If I could, I'd put in several delay repay claims into GWR for making 'my' charter late. Saying that 'all steam locomotives on the main line break down and cause chaos' (or at least infering it), is silly.
