    The annual Model Rail Show of the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) this year will be on the weekend of 29/06/19 and 30/06/19. Plus resident layouts: • Ruddington ‘00’ • Millhouse Lane ‘0’ • Thomas and Friends ‘00’ • Our outdoor multi scale layout The Nottingham Society of Model and Experimental Engineers Ltd’s Gauge 1, 3 1/2 inch, 5 inch gauge raised tracks and 7 1/4 inch gauge ground level track each complete with tunnels, extensive landscaping and full signalling (small extra charge applies) (Sunday only however may also operate Saturday) On the 1:1 scale railway it is planned that 46010 or 20154 and visiting class 31 - D5830 will be top and tailing the 125 group’s MK3’s on Saturday and visiting Hunslet Austerity 68067 will operate services on Sunday. Usual site facilities of Café, Gift shop, Visitor Centre and Heritage transport displays all available as usual. Opening times are 10:00 - 17:00 both days. General admission prices including unlimited 1:1 scale train rides £12.00 Adults £6.00 Children (5-16 yrs) £30.00 Family.   3. Looking forward to seeing Netwerwood again, I’ve only seen it the once and at Quorn and didn’t get that much of a chance to have a proper look then!

  5. How to Reach Us: Our stations are located at; Ruddington (Main station, base of operations and facilities). On Mere Way, just off the A60 south of Ruddington. Car Parking available. SatNav: NG11 6JS Rushcliffe Halt (East Leake) (just north of the village of East Leake on the Gotham Road). Car Parking Available SatNav: LE12 6JT By Car: ALL regularly timetabled services call at both Ruddington and Rushcliffe Halt (East Leake) stations. By Public Transport: Ruddington Station and our main base of operations is adjacent to the Rushcliffe Country Park, and the Ruddington Fields Business Park. Buses serve both Ruddington Village and the Business Park from Nottingham City Centre. The Nottingham City Transport 10 Service serves Ruddington village during weekdays and on Saturday. On Sunday the Nottingham City Transport 10C Service comes right onto Mere Way adjacent to our main gate. Rushcliffe Halt Station is immediately adjacent to bus stops served by the NCT No1 Service between Nottingham and Loughborough.

  11. We’re getting there. Just looking for another couple of ‘N’ gauge layouts and maybe another continental.
  12. Sheffield Bridgehouses ‘P4’ now added to the list of layouts attending courtesy of John Quick and the GCR Rolling Stock Trust. The layout along with displays and information about the Barnum rake restoration will be within the coach in the main building.
